Your most excellent book thumped onto my door mat today. As a long term TVR owner I'm very much considering trading up to V8V and I'd imagine that your book will help facilitate that decision. I just need to ration myself and not read it all at once!

Thanks John. Sounds like a good move (although your Griffith looks lovely), a Vantage Roadster should be the way to go your ideal would be a more powerful 4.7 - 12.25MY+ Vantage or earlier V8S Roadster both have Sports suspension+ more direct steering and upgraded brakes (I'm thinking of the TVR!). If you are looking at a 4.3 try and find one with Sports Suspension, if you are a press on driver. Both 4.3 & 4.7 are completely different to the TVR, but they will offer a whole new fabulous and special ownership experience. You will have full details of all the Vantage range and the model year changes, plus prefered options, in the guide. Along with details on the rest of the range for when you change to your second Aston (inevitable!) Hope to see an Aston on your drive soon

Bought the book and highly recommend it. I too, like other here, bought my car, a V12V, before getting the book! Regardless, the information is interesting and very helpful to someone like me who is a complete newbie to the Aston Martin world.

Cheers for the feedback guys, it is designed for owners as well as buyers let's be honest Aston's tend to get under your skin creating the need to know more about these beautiful beasts, the guide helps scratch that itch..... if you don't buy it you only end up getting a new toy for the car instead and that's a far more expensive proposition

Hi All,
Just a quick post to say that the latest 14th EDITION of The Definitive Guide to Gaydon era Aston Martin has arrived into stock.
There are an extra 16 pages over the 12.75 edition, covering the new Vantage, DB11 V8 and Volante, Vanquish Ultimate and any 18/19MY updates, etc.
We also decided it was time for a new cover design, hope you like it?

I was looking back at the 1st edition and we have gone from 244 to 328 pages with the latest edition (whilst also having to downsize text to squeeze everything in) -the original guide was digitally printed and glued, we are now litho printed and the book is stitched as well as bonded. Apologies it has gone up a few squid, but printing in shorter batches to keep things up to date costs dramatically more and every time we add extra pages the printer rubs his hands together.....as does the postman


A HUGE THANK YOU for your continued support and kind mentions about the guide in the threads below (people seem to miss the sticky posts!) the guide would not exist without the enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgable Aston Martin owners who frequent this form.. Cheers

"stitched as well as bonded" would convince me and I do understand that you like to be up to date with your book, but was it really necessary to have the AMG Vantage in Vomit Green on the cover just now (given how controversial the whole car still is)? Does the new edition bring updates for my 17MY V8 Vantage S or could I do with the 12.75 ed., if "stitched as well as bonded" and in case it is still obtainable?

Hi Emilio,
We wanted to show that the guide is bang-up-to date including the new Vantage, the cover looks great in the flesh and the cars are in shadow so the green isn’t too scary

I personally prefer the original design, but the new car is still well worth reading about, the design will no doubt grow on us all and we may get some new options to soften things a tad!!

Anyway, there is a vast number of great images of the whole range inside.

We have just 3 of the 12.75 editions and they do cover the 17MY, but they have a few marks, inside back cover/cover. If you like one of these just order the latest copy and we can pop £4.50 back via Paypal, if you pm me to request one.

Emilio - are you sure your not Marcus? I would have thought the New Vantage would have been a car of your dreams and would have loved the design over there in Germany, hence overjoyed at the front cover of this most excellent bible?

The aim of the guide is to provide all the indepth, honest information you are likely to need on every Gaydon era model (not just the ones we like best personally), so you can fully learn about your preferred steed, or decide which model is best for you. We try and keep it as up-to-date as possible, so you can see the latest evolutionary developments.

It is also interesting to see a good number of buyers use the guide to help progress into different models as they get the “Aston Martin" bug.

We all have opinions on the new Vantage, and we bring you the full details to help you not just judge the book by its cover ....pun intended

As mentioned we used this as it was the colour Aston chose for first launch of the new Vantage and we wanted to make people aware the book was bang-up to date. We have also had lots of positive feedback about the vibrant colour morphing from deep black and it is toned down from the original brighter hue.. honest , but opinion noted.
As you have seen there are many hundreds of superb images covering the whole range, in micro detail, inside. So maybe concentrate on the lovely new inside cover image (example below).. and remember it’s the vast amount of quality information that counts
