Hi guys, thanks for the advice and comments.

TVR4500 - I emailed the previous owner who found the emergency key and posted it to me - received it today - looks brand new, with a small sticker stating "V12 VAN TAG 47" and last 6 digits of my car's chassis number on the back.

They didn't have a battery charger, but as I already have a CTEK MXS 5.0, I have ordered a CTEK cigarette plug connector from Halfords at £7.99.

Phil/Spyker138 - I am going to take your advice and take it easy until I have a chance to get matching tyres on the rear - the car seems to pull to the right under relatively hard (>65%) acceleration - almost like the 2 rear tyres are gripping at different rates - I haven't dared to floor it yet!
I just need to decide whether to replace the Corsa or the non-Corsa Pirelli tyre - any advice most welcome.
Where exactly is the date-stamp on the sidewall?

Simon - I bought the car privately, and it is the only Tungsten manual V12V that I have seen advertised in the last few months - I assume they had a buyer lined up for your car, and didn't need to list it?

I am really enjoying the car, it is a unique driving experience - my only other niggle at the moment is that it has developed an irritating/embarrassing brake squeal when braking at low speeds.

Regards,
Ken

I would strongly advise getting a full set and not mixing them. At the very least get a matching pair on an axle (i.e. The rears in this case) as even if they are the same make they will have different behavior if they are different ages and tread depth. The pic shows the date stamp that will have week number and year - in this case tyres made in week 30 of 2013.

Hi Ken, I've just replaced my rears - got Pirelli non-Corsa now, a better all round tyre than the Corsa, particularly in the wet. The other option is the Michelin PSS4 I believe.

Ken - great news about the emergency key, hopefully now you have it, you'll never need it

I'll chase my supplying dealer, again, for mine

My car is on Zeros from new - best daily driver / all year tyre?? I recall like Porsche, etc the compound is brand specific - N on Porsche and AM on Astons - so check all the same AM2 etc??

Hi Mark, thanks for the info. I only have that it's a carbon black edition but am missing the rest of the spec etc. Could you possibly post up a link to the advert please?
Cheers - Phil

Bumping this important thread up - frankly it should be pinned.

Thanks for that. Not sure how you ask a Mod to pin it?

Anyways, I'm currently struggling to get any new ones. The worldwide marketplace has dried up:-
USA - no new ones coming up for sale in nearly 6 weeks now.
EU - an odd one or two (cheers Trigbush).
UK - S00365 came up for sale this week, last sold late 2015. There only appears to be around 10 advertised for sale at MD. not sure if these remain unsold.
RoW - difficult to find any at all for sale - 1 in Aussie, NZ.

Summer is a time of good supply normally, not this year.... and maybe not anymore! These are keepers for sure.

There are seven for sale in Europe which have been caught by classicdriver.com's sweep up for sale engine. https://www.classicdriver.com/en/cars/aston-martin...

These include six coupes (including one Carbon Black) and one roadster, of which

In Germany, S00232 https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/aston-martin/...

In France, S00044 https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/aston-martin/...

Maybe you have these already?

Interesting question. Who has one as a collectible which they will keep long term, rather than as a car to use for a while and then replace with a different car? I am in the car to use for a while camp. Mine is at 5 years and 23k miles and I am still really happy with it. I am thinking it may well go for a new model Vantage in due course. Or for something completely different. New V12 Astons are outside my budget - and if they weren't there would be other things to tempt me, such as cars from Woking.
