http://www.nicholasmee.co.uk/sell-your-car/market-...

"The new cars from Gaydon, such as the turbocharged DB11, finally mark the end of an era for the old-school, analogue cars of old – even ones still in production. The manual V12 Vantage will be a future classic, and is still one of the most exciting cars available new today..."

I am going to drive mine <3k a year and keep it...

I've owned mine since August 2010, bought with 3000 miles now nearly 15000 miles. No intention of selling - Mako blue is fantastic- and what else could you get with the money!

Thanks for the links Trigbush. Never knew about the Classic Driver website, I use Mobile.de.
However, I do have 044 & 232, thanks.

I wish all European sales were made to state the vin as in the USA. I do email the seller from time to time but get limited success in obtaining the all important last four digits.

And an interesting read on the Nicholas Mee link, pretty much spot on there!

I think thats a good point that Mako makes about the value, what else could you get thats as good as these for the price? You would need to spend near double to match the V12V with some thing from Porsche or Ferrari. These cars are under valued as was the DBS a little while ago, seem to be doing better now.

But even then there would that element of fun missing, some see that as making the car flawed but it's what makes mine something to keep for as long as possible.

I also have a manual 997 Gen 1 Turbo (last Metzger engine). Sure, it is an amazing 480bhp/620Nm+60NM car, and its acceleration speed is 3.6-3.9 seconds, and I will never sell it, but the driving experience in the V12V is just incomparable. The build quality, the touch and feel, the essence of the V12V make you shudder at just how bloody good it is. And that's not to mention how it looks on the road.

I had a 997 GT3 gen 1 from new, specced up to the max. It was quick, but was it as special as my V12V it made way for......nooooooooooo!
The V12V experience is just awesome in every way biggrin

Hi Mako,

Your V12 has always kept me awake after seeing pics !
She really is beautiful.
I am so thankful I managed to grab the last one of 4 ( V12SM-7 speed ) which came to South Africa.
Last five digits of chassis is : 02 974 ?
What does this tell us ?
Thank you once again ! I can't wait to take delivery in a couple of weeks time .

Hi Trig, brilliant, thanks for that. Another one needed. I take it you have seen this one yourself, as the advert makes no reference to the vin.

And far from giving up. I've been incredibly busy with the Register the last 6 weeks or so and it has progressed fantastically. S00420 above will make it one or two short of 750 cars!
One does not simply give up after 6 and a half years of hard toil wink

Hi Kev, there are 388 UK V12V and I have 320 on the Register...... S00361 isn't one of them!

Is this the quantum silver car with 20204m on currently advertised at Reading?

I'm guessing maybe a one or two owner car who is possibly trading up to a 7sp manual V12V?

Looks a great car with the lightweights and B&O!

Good luck and sorry I don't have any further info on this one.
Cheers
Phil

I've sent you the VIN on the other post. The HPI check is a little blurred but it looks like the engine number is AM10/26583 and the car was first registered on 02/01/2010
