The are brackets behind those dimples , and yeah genrally after a slight impact , the bumper gets pressed against these brackets.

I have know of the brackets being rounded off to help this, so that the isnt that connection , and the bumper sinks back down .

A bodyshop could do this pretty easy .

@Gio1210: the 7 that you saw had exactly the same dimples?
On the same height, but some closer some further from each other!

Aston approved bodyshop reckons this is not impact damage but manufacturing defect. They have put a warranty claim into AM. We shall see what they come back with.

Concensus from the experts is that the issue was the incorrect mounting of the bumper at the factory leaving it too close to the supports underneath. Heat from the exhaust caused the bumper to go soft and mark it.

AM fixed it under guarantee. It was done by repositioning the bumper correctly then using a heatgun to let the bumper find its initial position. Job's a good'un and no paint required. Yay!

Hats off to Gaydon customer service.

It doesn’t matter what you do it will come back my husband has the same problem he’s got the bumper off it’s the number plate light holder pulling the bumper out of shape it’s stuck on with silicone cut it off and the dimples will disappear just leave bumper out in The Sun for a couple of days ps do not stick holder back on

Would you be so kind and explain/show which part you had cut off ? just curious how the number plate lights hold if you cut something in this area off. Thank you !

It’s a right job getting bumper off but the end result is perfect
