If anybody is looking for a set of PSSs, Michelin UK are currently doing their '£100 off (fuelcard) a set of 4' deal:

http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/special-offers/fue...

When I was looking for a set last year, this helped to bring the price down slightly below the Tyreleaders price. The offer runs out on the 30th April and you need to buy the tyres from one of their UK dealers (ie not Tyreleaders).
Thanks for the reminder. I saw this advertised in the M6 services pisser. Forgot to get it done before the offer ran out.
New sticky and wheel protecting rubber on its way!

My how times have changed. When Tim created this thread back in 2012 he was looking for the cheapest tires for his V8 Vantage. Here we are three years later and he's driving around Monaco in a brand-new 650 S.

Quite a few people have made a good stab at it for a hobby.

Just got a set of Michelin Pilot super sports fitted and whilst the ride is undoubtedly better (the dash rattles less!) the steering seems a bit vague in a straight line and you cant "feel" the road so much when turning. I'm guessing this is all to do with the softer sidewall than the bridgestones, might a bit more tyre pressure help?

I was looking for a set of tyres for my vantage and also a guy I work with was looking for a set for his DB9, I came up with the following from Camskill and for the alternative sizes, they alter the speed by 1mph upto 140mph on the fronts and 1mph upto 160 on the rears?!

Kumho KU 39 - 285/35 R19 (103Y) XL TL x 2

Total
£205.40

Kumho KU 39 - 245/40 R19 98Y XL TL x 2

Total
£191.70

ORDER TOTAL £411.06

This seems a pretty good deal for 4 tyres with good reviews, just need a good tyre fitter and your off?

FYI

Bridgestones were coming in at £658.86 delivered

Never understood why people would spend a load of money on a car, put loads of money into the fuel tank then skimp on the only part of the car that keeps you on the road.

Are new V8 Vantages still being fitted with Bridgestone Potenza tyres at the factory?

£200 saved on tyres will many also hinder resale, or certainly reduce your market to others that are buying on price too. If viewing a used premium car with cheap consumables, Id certainly scrutinize the rest of the service history

I seem to recall on a previous page the mention of the Kumho tyre hence the post. Also see the note about the potenza tyre price.

Typical answers without reading the history of the thread.

The kumho even if it was the right size is a good tyre and if you were keeping the car a worthy choice, in the previous pages the alternative tyre sizes were mentioned.

I've used tyres out with standard OEM on a number of high performance cars and all have performed so I'm willing to not be duped by Aston Martin into thinking they're OEM tyre is the best choice

FYI I had a full set if potenzas on my 996 and they were a decent tyre but noisy ? I have continental sport on the vantage and as per the 996 they've worn out rapidly

Will be interesting to hear how you get on with them. The majority of online reviews seem to think they are fantastic in the dry, pretty rubbish in the wet and several reports of the sidewalls being too soft and making the car sqirm under acceleration and when cornering fast. Don't forget that the OEM Bridgestones - stamped AM (if I recall) have stiffer sidewalls over the standard Brigestone to account for the weight of the Aston - allegedly
