Point is, BR can make your car accelerate faster, stop better, turn better and sound better. They can't make you a better driver, but they can help you make the most of what you havesmile
Don't agree with that bit to be honest. If you're at Jockman level, extracting say 25% of the performance from the car, then when it's tuned you will be extracting say 20% at the same level.

I was going to upgrade the suspension to full Ohlins with upside down forks and a fully adjustable rear shock on my CBR, along with having the engine rebuilt and blueprinted. Then I saw a bloke who I know, who races, doing a session on an almost identical bike to mine (i.e. fairly standard). He was lapping about 25 seconds faster than me around Cadwell in the wet. This just made me realise there's no point in upgrading anything until I can extract everything possible from the standard stuff. Just my view of it all anyway smile
You may be misreading Yeti's posting, Georgio !!

The implication is that BR will make the most potential from the car - the machine itself. There is no claim that it will make the human any more capable smile

BR modifications make it easier for the less heroic driver to push their limits further and help better explore the capability of the car. Brakes are stronger and more progressive and never fade compared to standard kit. The switchable suspension is rid of the pogoing trait and is way more compliant when set to soft, allowing the driver to feel how each axle is behaving. When switched to stiff, that learning can be applied through greater confidence at a better pace. Then when the driver can go faster, the engine has the power to pull more strongly.

So, instead of the driver being taught to drive a compromised package faster, the approach of a dynamically better package should move the driver on in the same way.

So actually, it could and should help you to become a better driver yes

When Adrain at BR took me out for a ride in my car, the suspension was set to soft most of the time just to feel how the car was behaving on the bumpy roads of Warwickshire. Absolutely astonishing, the grip, the traction and the knowledge of when the car would begin to break away in extremis. It was all very surreal actually smile

Some great banter going already and no-one has left the country yet!
It just like all the racehorses getting frisky before the start of the Grand National all over again.
Can't wait for the updates.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip smile

Blimey. Thought I'd check in (Page 69) to see how the convoy are doing and, lo and behold, people are still banging on about Bamford Rose. Is no thread safe? biggrin

Anyway, very jealous (of both not being able to come and my non-BR-fettled car) so will be reading this in a certain shade of green over the coming days. Not Hardly Green, Georgio, before you suggest it wink

Drive safe ladies and gents, and have a fantastic time. Look forward to the pics, and the stories in Wales at the end of the month.

I've only ever been to Geneva around watch related things so I've not explored much. Here's Tripadvisor's take on 40 things to see:

If you want a great meal I can recommend Le Chat-Botte in the Beau Rivage Hotel (http://www.beau-rivage.ch/uk/index.php#le-chat-botte.php). A nice hotel is the Hotel President Wilson (http://www.hotelpwilson.com/en/) with rooms that have a great view of the lake.
