So what have you done with your Aston today?

He didn't have anywhere to go as he was blocked in by another car from the security firm (he'd just been jump started by the other one). He saw me in the window and stood there while I walked out. The other car had reversed out and blocked the car park exit, but had he waited for his chum to leave, he could have just driven straight out, I'm baffled as to why he felt the need to reverse over a car length backwards.
Sorry to hear that - you must be gutted! fuelracer496 said:
I have all their details and their insurers are meant to be in touch - just another bit of grief I didn't need at the moment really.
Who are you insured with? If its one of the high street names then watch out for the hike on your insurance premium next year - for a "no fault claim"! Might be better to get them to offer to pay direct for the repair, but will largely depend on their excess and how much they care about their own renewal being a company.Very kindly, the firm that AM use to handle these things has stepped in the do all the chasing and make life a bit easier. Initial assessment of the damage showed it was a new door at minimum and some repairs to the side sill.
How I currently feel at the moment; numb I guess - it took 11 years to get to a point where I could own an Aston, so today's been a bit sickening. AM Bristol have been excellent as always though. Hopefully it'll be sorted quickly.

don't fret, it'll be back good as new. These things happen, pain in the rear, but easily fixed. How I currently feel at the moment; numb I guess - it took 11 years to get to a point where I could own an Aston, so today's been a bit sickening. Don’t despair. I will come out fine. A new door is easy to blend in. I had a piece of metal fencing falling on the roof of my V12V when exiting my car park at Leicester Square. It was the fence they had put up to shield the celebs from the public when walking into the Harry Potter premiere at the time. I strong gust of wind blew the whole barrier on top of my car. Warner Brothers settled the bill after Works Service repaired the roof. Things are progressing as the days pass. The other party's insurance company has been in touch, I'd already had a repair estimate from the body shop - it's all fixable thankfully.
Having got a copy of the building's CCTV footage, it's been a pain trying to convert it to a more common format (Samsung .BU format is readable in VLC player but doesn't output to an MP4 or anything useful).

Had a battery failure in the valet key fob for my Vantage. 6SpeedOnline have a detailed picture sequence of how to dismantle the key and replace the battery. Simple to do even for me. The thread is titled "Rapide "plastic key" battery replacement" If someone knows how to put this on the FAQ it might be helpful.
This last weekend road 245 on the way to Sequoia National Park. Amazing! I always assume you can easily go 15 to 20mph over what's posted by some curves but this has a few honest 20mph corners. Blasphemy, but don't know if I'd want a stick on this road as you'd be constantly 2-3-2-3-2-3-2-1-2-3-2-3-2-1-2-3-2-3........

Nice. I'm about ready to get fresh rubber. Probably going to go with 285's in the rear and 245's up front. I know I'm good with the rear not rubbing anything but has anyone gone a bit wider up front and have issues with the wings?
I have 265's in front and 305's in rear on my grey Vantage. No issues so long as the wheels have the right offsets. You'll be fine with 245 in front and 285 in rear (that's what I have on my red Vantage). I've been using that tire size combo for years. You could also go 255 in front and 295 in rear if you've got the wheels for it.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
