So what have you done with your Aston today?

Decided I’d had enough of the noisy tramlining very old Bridgestone tyres even though they still had lots of tread left they had to go, especially when reading on here how much of an improvement it makes, so I decided on a set of Michelin PS4s
I had exactly the same issues with my old Bridgestones and swapped them out for new PS4S last week. You won't regret it!rog007 said:
Why not use a repairer closer by?
I asked a similar question of my insurer...They wouldn't let me send it to the local body shop without it screwing my NCB etc as they aren't on the 'approved list'. I wasn't very amused - but it's taken so long to sort out a very easy thing, that I gave up and told them to just get on with it. It makes my decision to not renew next year a lot easier. I'd just like the car back before Christmas, fingers crossed.
Check the quality of the repair and paint when you get it back! The companies used by the insurers are used for a reason......they are either cheap, or the insurers have actually purchased/set-up their own bodyshop. Either option is done because the repairs are cheaper, and thats also for a reason.
If its your own insurers, then you are stuffed if it comes back and fails YOUR quality control inspection because they will claim it is to their approval standard, and they paid for it. If done by another insurers, at least you can throw it back until its done properly.
I have seen cars come back from the insurers without any primer, DA marks, repaired rather than replaced panels and even runs in the paint.
My best advise would be do not sign it off without a really good look, in daylight, when you get it back.

Indeed, luckily the body shop they've insisted on is AM approved and I'm told does a very good job, but perhaps not the quickest. The 3rd party accepted all fault for it, the whole episode's just been inconvenient really. If its your own insurers, then you are stuffed if it comes back and fails YOUR quality control inspection because they will claim it is to their approval standard, and they paid for it. Took a deposit; car goes to its new owner on Sunday...
Unfortunately, the new owner turned up today and drove her away without even a thought for my feelings. It was a great 2 1/2 years and one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned. Did 35000 miles in that time and she never missed a beat. Last MOT at AM main dealer had no advisories, and on a 10 year old car!
But time to scratch a new itch. Thanks for a great forum.

Which race circuit is that MrP?
The first photo is Hyde Park in central Sydney. Each car club was provided with a separate departure location. The next two pics are at the racetrack itself Sydney Motorsport Park (formerly known as Eastern Creek)Edited to add: the third photo is a bunch of Astons behind a Volvo pace car. Laps later in the day got faster
