Sweet
Got to love a griff.
I've had 4 TVR but not a Griff. You'll be spoilt for choice.

My new AM V12VS got taken out to Cheddar Gorge this week for its first time, then back for a wash to meet its new stable-mate my Audi RS2, between them they just about tick all the boxes except the ecomony box. hehe

Nice pairing! The RS2 is an appreciating classic.
Reminds me of this nice clip.

Me and mine will be pottering down to the Hamble ready for the last day watching the racing off Cowes on a mate's boat tomorrow, with a hangover no doubt...

Stunning phumy - I contacted the seller of that car a couple of weeks ago and was gutted when he said it had sold! Congrats and enjoy!

Where on the Hamble? I grew up in Holly Hill Lane so walking distance from Crableck and Universal marinas on the Hamble. Down there visiting the rents fairly often.

That RS2 - one of THE most memorable cars from producing films about such things weekly many moons ago. When that big turbo kicks in I think it was the first time I heard my dad and his mate swear in perfect shocked unison! It just gripped and pulled with absolute ferocity! Nothing has gone quicker around that hairpin by Llyn Celyn (Bala) EVER! Utterly astonished by it! Looked fab in Nogaro too - enjoy!

In fact i later bought the V6 twin Turbo RS4 based on this - couldnt hold a candle to it though. Broke my heart on that B4391 frown

That Aston's a bit of alright too!

Thanks for that, the RS2 has just come out of a full suspension refresh/refurbishment and look the business now, can be seen here for the before and after looks.

2,000 miles in a week, to Zurich and back via Frieburg and Strasbourg.

She had 2,000 miles on her when I purchased in April now on 5,500. Built to be used.

Autobahn was fun, above 140mph is a little squeaky...

Many, many stops to re-fuel.

This is where she was abandoned in Strasbourg when we needed a cup of tea.

Legally at 2x UK speed limit. Still only at 65% of Aston's mighty V12 capabilities though ;-)

Would love to do a trip like that but I can’t even use mine due to a reoccurring injury means it has been sat outside on the drive for weeks and now has orange brake disks 😥.

Sorry to hear, get well soon!

If it helps:

The V12S has lightweight seats, most comfy seats ever for long journeys IMHO, so far this summer:

- Did Le Mans and back in the Aston; v comfy
- Did Zurich and back in the Aston; v comfy
- Did Loire Valley and back in the RS6; more frequent stops, more back pain

Going to swap the RS6 for a Range Rover most likely. Although it is extremely ironic that the RS6 (602bhp) averaged 29.6mpg over the 1,000 mile round trip and apparently the P400E Range Rover hybrid (300bhp + 100bhp electricity) only averages around 24mpg.

Booked my Vantage in with AM Nottingham for having its bubbling paintwork sorted FOC.

Whilst there I couldn't help but notice this 2016 CB Vanquish which is one of very very few with Lightweight seats: https://preowned.astonmartin.com/preowned-cars/111...

Went for a test drive and whilst very tempted I've come to the conclusion that I'm not yet ready to give up my manual sports car for an automatic GT. Anyway, if anyone is in the market for a Vanquish then I'd definitely take a look at this one which is an excellent rare spec., is in superb condition and is an enormous amount of car for the money.

FOC - Pete, that is very encouraging to hear! Glad that this worked out for you in the first step. Now fingers crossed the paintshop delivers a top job.

Correct. No rear seats. Didn't know 2+0 was an option on the Vanquish but it obviously was. Unless your luggage has very short legs then it improves the practicality from my point of view. My kids are way beyond the age when they could have fitted in a 2+2.

Has just had a front end respray but needs a new drivers door seal rubber (and some PPF this time I'd say!).
