I'll take that. I've told you before, 7 miles a minute is as much as my meagre brain can cope with. Now get on with some estimates, or whatever you do......

I've been out in attempt to recreate the sonic boom heard over Cambridgeshire this weekend............then spent another twenty minutes washing all the suicidal flies off the front.

Well last night I went with anopther 19 AMOCists to McLaren's Technology centre and had a very pleasant few hours there, wined and dined, a sit in the 12C, a look at the production line and an 'access all areas' look at the F1 cars.

When I say 'access all areas', I am not kidding. Mucky paws all over Jenson and Sergio's cars being prepped for Silverstone; techs were on a break so we jut climbed all over them and fiddled with everything. Truly amazing, at Wiliams I was only allowed to look through a window (but was allowed to sit in jenson's compnay car back then). Really a great privilege and I'm not even into F1 particularly!

No pictures allowed sadly but Trinity Tim has a group shot he'll post up later of a group of men who all decided to wear chinos on the same night smile

Then a cracking drive home at 10pm from Woking, via Brooklands to Putney, roof off, exhaust set to valves open and actually rather a lot of fun. Hadn't driven much recently but that more than made up for it.

So if anything falls off those cars during Silverstone weekend then we'll know who to blame smile

A bit did get knocked off actually (just a pedal box cover)! Not by me, but it makes rather a loud noise in the deathly quiet of McLaren.

yes Red Bull wouldn't allow anything like that when I've been down. I'm very surprised McLaren did.

I got to have a good look over John McGuinness and Bruce Anstey's TT/NW200 bikes, and Jakub Smrz's BSB bike recently. They are awesome pieces of kit cloud9

One of my best friends works for Mercedes High Performance Engines working with McLaren and Force India, I thought security was tighter than that, I mean, the engineers/mechanics often stand in the way of the cars when cameras are trying to get a close up shot during the grid walk for gods sake! Then they let a load of old Aston duffers poke around the car being finally prepped for home grand prix? Hmmm.

Vesuvius, she left the factor this morning and is at the Harston (Lancaster Cambridge) dealership this afternoon. Going over to see her tomorrow afternoon (Julia is working in the morning), will post some pics in the evening. Is it normal for hands to shake at this point,,,woohoo
