Hmmm. Well, I retrofitted Touchtronic auto to my 2002 DB7 Vantage standard auto.
In doing so used a more modern BMW selector mechanism than the stone age BMW version used by AML and ditched the cheap plastic AML surround for something less "downmarket". Took me 3 solid "todays" to do though....

The shoe isn't actually part of the AML surround - but I did give it the boot!

Very nice. Like the three 'todays'. Funny how things stretch out like that.

Started the rotbox for the first time since September, I'd forgotten how noisy the car is with straight through pipes. Tyre pressures a bit down but otherwise all well. The benefits of no "electronics". No mice this year either...

There is no discernable difference in the ride. It feels pretty much the same as it did on the 19"s. However I was no longer on the OE Bridgestone tyres, I had Michelin PSS on the 19"s. These were slightly softer than the Bridgestones and did improve ride quality as well as handling. There are Pirelli tyres on these 20" wheels now and I would say it doesn't hold the road as well as the 19"s. However this is in line with expectation and a sacrifice I am happy to make as I rarely drive at 9/10s. biggrin

Interesting, my second least favourite "premium" tyres after Bridgestones are Pirellis! Why do so many manufacturers fit these decidedly average tyres as standard? confused

Little blast around the downs this morning in the new Prodrive toy... Loving this thing.
Great photos, surprised you let someone drive (unless someone else took that photo). Tell us more about your car (unless I've missed it on another thread) always wished I'd got the prodrive suspension that was knocking about on eBay a year or so ago.

Friend was taking the shots on this one,

From AM Chichester, first Aston for me - Moved from a low miles 996 C2 - Very different car to drive but the noise is another level.

44,000m - FAMSH - Clutch at 37k.

Has the Exhaust (Sport CATS), ECU, Wheels & Carbon trim.

No suspension fitted, but that kit you mention that was on eBay, is now in my hands! Reached out to the seller who ended up removing it as it was missing a bit. Have purchased & sourced the bit and will be fitted to the car to complete the package! Very excited for this.

She's very much a weekend toy, my daily drive is much more suitable for the work I do!

Apart from the suspension, I fancy a carbon rear diffuser and I'm tempted to source some N400 intakes (although I believe they require some modification to inc a vacuum line?) Numberplate plinth is coming off and small legal J9 DOP plate is coming over :-)

Great car you have and well done on sourcing the extra part to make it a complete kit.

I also came from a 911 many years ago. Great cars that they are you can't beat the sense of occasion driving the Aston.

Introduce yourself on the main thread.

Drove around the Cotswolds for a couple of hours, first time out since September. Flat spots on the tyres for the first few miles, and unusually no problems with last years petrol

Collected it from Bamford Rose following a series of enhancements including: sports exhaust (manifolds, 200 cell cats & X-pipe), twin plate clutch and lightened flywheel, fast-road geo. Utterly delighted with the result. The combination of the increased power with vastly improved throttle response, accompanied by the sound is truly epic. Anyone even vaguely considering doing this should not hesitate. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for kind remarks. Never had seatbelts either which concentrates the mind on busy modern roads

Went for my first service and checkup since getting the car, and stopped out on the Palm for a coffee before heading back to Abu Dhabi.

Does depend on which car I'm in if I think they're big enough...
