So what have you done with your Aston today?

FOC - Pete, that is very encouraging to hear! Glad that this worked out for you in the first step. Now fingers crossed the paintshop delivers a top job.
Not only FOC but they will also replace any of my PPF that they have to remove. I was expecting to have to fight on that point but no argument at all. If the quality isn't "perfect" then it will go back until it is. This printshop have done bits on two of my cars previously and I've never been able to tell where the new paint starts and the old paint finishes.V8V Pete said:
Booked my Vantage in with AM Nottingham for having its bubbling paintwork sorted FOC.
Whilst there I couldn't help but notice this 2016 CB Vanquish which is one of very very few with Lightweight seats: https://preowned.astonmartin.com/preowned-cars/111...
Went for a test drive and whilst very tempted I've come to the conclusion that I'm not yet ready to give up my manual sports car for an automatic GT. Anyway, if anyone is in the market for a Vanquish then I'd definitely take a look at this one which is an excellent rare spec., is in superb condition and is an enormous amount of car for the money.
Very rare spec that. It looks stunning though.Whilst there I couldn't help but notice this 2016 CB Vanquish which is one of very very few with Lightweight seats: https://preowned.astonmartin.com/preowned-cars/111...

I was looking at that vanquish last night. No rear seats?
Correct. No rear seats. Didn't know 2+0 was an option on the Vanquish but it obviously was. Unless your luggage has very short legs then it improves the practicality from my point of view. My kids are way beyond the age when they could have fitted in a 2+2.2+0 was actually the 'standard' configuration on Vanquish but most buyers opted for 2+2 (we won't debate how useful or not those +2 seats are here
I have never seen a standard seat 2+0.
If you opted for Lightweight Seats you could only have it as a 2+0 (and note the 'Easy Entry' button on the dash you see on Lightweight Vantage versions is not present in the Vanquish even though it is in the User Guide. You also forego heated seats, electric lumbar support and side (I think) airbags - so you get a special waterfall panel and seat switch panel - well one with less buttons
They are however utterly gorgeous and very comfortable. To my eyes most Vanquish seats look very slab-like especially with the cooled option where there can be no stitching detail on the seat base.

Took my V12V to Millbrook Proving Ground for an Aston Martin PDC. After much head scratching a few months ago, I decided to do it in a DBSS. Unfortunately, past models are no longer available, and the manual Vantage AMR isn’t on the list yet, so the DBSS seemed a sensible option. What a wonderful machine. Thanks to my instructor, Paul Beddow, for an informative, educational and thoroughly enjoyable day. He is a very knowledgable and talented man, and a great teacher. If any of you guys get the chance to do it, go for it. Cannot recommend it highly enough. I’m knackered now, but out for a birthday dinner tonight and a well earned beer or two!
Best Regards
Minglar
Who did you book this through? Is it like the Porsche one and offered to new buyers or is it completely seperate to AM?Best Regards

It was a present from Mrs Minglar, and she booked it directly through AM. Link below. After her initial enquiry they contacted her by phone and took payment. They sent her a “gift letter” in the name of the lucky recipient (ie me!) I sorted out the date and the car myself a few months later.

If you ask me, I think everyone who owns one of these wonderful cars should go on it. It really was superb. However, as you can see, it’s not cheap. I don’t know if AM dealers throw it in with a new car as it’s been a few years since I last bought one new.
Hope that helps

ETA, sorry whoami, it looks like we were typing a reply simultaneously!

Me and mine will be pottering down to the Hamble ready for the last day watching the racing off Cowes on a mate's boat tomorrow, with a hangover no doubt...
Where on the Hamble? I grew up in Holly Hill Lane so walking distance from Crableck and Universal marinas on the Hamble. Down there visiting the rents fairly often. hashluck said:
Bloody hell they are very mileage sensitive on price, that is such a lot of car for the money and as we know a very rare spec (when I purchased mine I was told only 9 Vanquish were built with Lightweights and all unique spec in terms of colour/trim etc) - I am amazed they don't make more of the seats in the ad, probably worried it promotes that it is a 2+0.....
2+0 was actually the 'standard' configuration on Vanquish but most buyers opted for 2+2 (we won't debate how useful or not those +2 seats are here
I have never seen a standard seat 2+0.
If you opted for Lightweight Seats you could only have it as a 2+0 (and note the 'Easy Entry' button on the dash you see on Lightweight Vantage versions is not present in the Vanquish even though it is in the User Guide.
