V12 Vantage tyres

agreed and surprising. To be fair, I've not been quoted for pzeros by my dealer, only corsas (which confusingly are of course also pzeros), but I believe them when they say that they base their price on what AML charge them. I am going to guess that JCT did not buy the tyres through AML, which begs the question why Wilmslow don't and furthermore, whether the factory attempt to insist dealers only buy through them
I've no idea who they bought them from, but they told me they made no margin on tyres and were targeted on sales total, not profit on them. Perhaps its a JCT group purchasing thing, rather than AML? Don't forget JCT are a huge group in W Yorks with dealerships in almost all marques, including all the prestige/performance makes.I had a quote back in May for £898 for the P Zeros, and £907 for Corsa's so there was very little in it at that time. I decided to hold off until winter, as being a Yorkshireman I knew I could squeeze a few more months of value out of them before they really needed changing.
I didn't get a quote for Corsa's last week as I had already decided I wanted the P Zeros for their improved cold/wet performance, so I was really pleased to hear the price had dropped since. I was so happy with the price I didn't even shop around - which is really hard for a Yorkshireman to admit to!
Wilmslow are Stratstone group aren't they? That's probably the difference...

Well regardless of the discussions over Michelin or pirelli, corsa or not, etc I just checked on Blackcircles.com and they appear to have in stock P zeros, not corsa, in am8 spec, at around £800 all in fitted for a set of 4 - I would NEVER get the Aston dealer to fit tyres, they normally work out between 75% and 150% more expensive than the best deals available elsewhere
Many thanks for this, they did indeed have stock and Michelin's now fitted. Thanks.Need some new tyres and found this thread from a while back - have had Pirelli P-Zero's since i got the car just over a year ago and truth be told, have never been that impressed with them.
Have had Michelin Pilot SS's on a few other cars and always liked them.
What are people's thoughts please, anyone swapped from Pirelli's to Michelin and were pleased/dissappointed?
Cheers

Many have and rave about them but I don't know where they all are now.Cheers
I will be changing from Corsas to Michelin PS4S in the Spring and will let you know how that goes if nobody answers before then ......
I went from Pirelli P zeros to Michelin PS4S and if I being completely honest, cannot tell any difference (I also went from 19" to 20" alloys).
I don't really drive my car hard/on the edge and average about 3000 miles per year. Mostly spring to Autumn driving.
I'm sure there is a difference and the Michelin is a better tyre, but I wouldn't be able to win a 'blind' driving test using the different tyres.
However, I would always buy the Michelins for my Aston.
Does that help at all !?!

just noticed this was reference to V12, so ignore my comments. My comments refer to my V8 only I don't really drive my car hard/on the edge and average about 3000 miles per year. Mostly spring to Autumn driving.

I went from worn Corsas to PS4S and the difference was noticeable but then that is worn tyres vs new...
When the Corsas were new, on a warm dry day, they were amazing, proper naughty. But they come with reduced tread depth and as they wear the ability to get heat into them reduces so even still on warm dry days they started to becomes less friendly, increasingly entertaining to be fair but less friendly.
PS4S are great from cold, improve with heat and have more tread depth so will last longer (than Corsas). Having had Zeros on other cars I would expect them to be ok from cold, ok when warm and wear ok and maybe a little cheaper than Michelin.
Just my 2p obvs.
Also be aware that V12V wheels/tyres are supposed to be balanced on the car as the discs needs balancing too, although this may only apply to those cars with the older style discs?! I'm sure someone can correct me.

4th out of 8 for Evo and Autobild.
Still a good effort for the price.

According to Michelin (via a web chat today), the fronts (255/35 ZR19 (96Y) XL) show up on the Michelin database but not on the website. Which they agree is a bit strange. They suggested phoning round some dealers, which I'll do in the coming days.
Has anyone tracked down a full set of PS4Ss, or is SuperSport the suggested tyre of choice?

CostCo (official Michelin supplier/installer) can supply and fit PS4S in the 255/35-19 and 295/30-19 sizes. Ordered a full set this past weekend for £834 fitted. Has anyone tracked down a full set of PS4Ss, or is SuperSport the suggested tyre of choice?

Superb! Thank you. Did you have any worries regarding there being no 'certified' AM-spec version of the tyre? Michelin pointed out on our chat that none of their tyres come with am AM seal of approval. Also, does anyone know what this means (from the handbook):
"Each wheel and tyre unit must be balanced dynamically and measured for Radial Force Variation (RFV) to make sure of efficient steering, optimum tyre wear and maximum ride comfort."
