Thoughts on Cygnet

It certainly was a very unusual departure from the heritage of the brand and may have some increased market value because of that, and scarcity.
But I would be embarrassed to be seen driving in it. What was Bez thinking!!!!
There's many people who would be just as embarrassed to be seen driving a normal Aston - a highly divisive car but there is nothing even remotely as luxurious and desirable available of this size at any price. It's a silly little tongue-in-cheek car for rich people with a sense of humour isn't it.But I would be embarrassed to be seen driving in it. What was Bez thinking!!!!

Well, maybe the archbishop of Canterbury... greenies... electric car fanatics... but no-one has ever turned down the offer of a ride in my Astons. And a number of people who give me the thumbs up, or chat when I'm refilling, or kids who stand gobsmacked when I drive past are testament to its popularity. Would the same happen if I puttered past in a Cygnet? I doubt it.Brakke said:
The purchase is a no-go.
The car is already for sale for 9 months and they wont budge on price AT ALL.
I was offering 35k euro and they wont come down a single cent from their 37450 euro.... so if someone else wants it, its all yours.
Count yourself lucky! As an investment, even an aston investment, you an do better. As a car to drive, you can do better. As an aston to own, you can do better. As a car to own around town, you can do better. The car is already for sale for 9 months and they wont budge on price AT ALL.

As a car to be derided in, there is no substitute.

Cringey doesn't quite cover it! Oh dear. I am afraid with that attitude, they will never sell it.....the demand for these cars is very low, and if finally somebody shows up to buy it, you of course never let a potential buyer go for a Euro 2.500 difference. Will not be surprised if he (or his boss) will call you back to make the deal anyway (as a Landrover dealer, in Drenthe of all places, he should be treasure his potential customers....).
You can always call to Paris and ask if 35K will be a good offer for this other Cygnet:

Agreed. However my son - a well placed motoring exec for the govt and a car enthusiast is quite happy with his Suzuki Swift Sport for his town apartment. So there is a demand for these city cars for their convenience to some people. But when a brand like Aston Martin is known worldwide for its sports car models, no city car model will go down well - as the Cygnet proves.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
