How much will it cost?

Last I heard £75,000 basic. Probably nearer 85k to 90k full loaded with all the extras.

This is the car I really want more than anything else at the moment. It's stunning... I really hope it drives as well as they say. I've never known so many pre-launch reviews/hype in magazines for a car before.

Edited to say: wonder how it sounds?

Yep put me down for one, but I'll take the wheels from the concept please, make it much more aggressive.

Agree that is a lovely thing and if I had the money would buy one without question, but I have a problem with the weight roughly it weighs almost 200kg more than a 911

Beautiful car , but a "911 killer" in price only. With all the will in the world, I just can't see it being a daily driver like a 911.

I also can't see it being on my drive in the near future - not unless they depreciate like a stone.
Which would be nice. (for some if not others)

We all want it to be a British 911 killer, its certainly in the 911 ballpark price wise, but can't help wondering if even a manufacturer with the pedigree of Aston Martin can compete with 40 odd years of continuous development and evolution?

Stu... you've decided to go for the first one then... and upgrade if/when the supercharged one comes out?

Yep, it's keeping things fresh and as I was up the lists on the '9' and V8 my depreciation should not be so painful.
I love my '9' to bits and still get a thrill every time I drive it, but I do crave a more sporting, sharper handling drive. So this fits my bill
If they build a quicker 'S' version, then that just has to be done

My LOI now stands on the S list, as of the day I sent it. I paid my deposit for the V8 at the weekend and cannot wait.. Shady will get his before me though ....g1t

Not only that, but at near £90k with the necessary options, it will be 911Turbo territory. Which will be very tricky.

Just got this weeks Autocar and they recon circa 75k, with a REDUCED options list. ie. it will have many extra as standard. If that's the case then it maybe nearer 80-85k fully loaded. I recall the option on the '9' to upgrade the Linn Hifi to 950w was around £1800.
Also the article has some nice pics of the interior with the non-wood dash with coloured stitching. Looks alot more sporty imo.

Can't wait for the 'real' road tests for this lot to come out - I'm getting a bit bored of test mules and journos being driven around.

Have to wait a while longer yet. Aston reckon they won't have any on the press fleet until September.

Hey, I can wait...

2 more cylinders. Also I reckon the AM is a lot stronger. The structural safety stuff was done by Volvo who are reckoned to be the best in the world at this.

FWIW AMV8 1570KG, 997 Coupe 1425KG, 997 Cab 1505KG.

I've heard pre-production cars and they sound marvellous, but I don't know how close they were to the final spec.

There is a lot of chat about the Linn HiFi on the AMOC forum, there seems to some suggestion that it's not all it's cracked up to be, one owner has had problems and others say it lacks power at the rear (with 950w that's hard to imagine but I'm only repeating what owners are saying). Given that the head-unit is a fixture, one could get amps and speakers upgraded professionally for less than £1.8k Rich...

Ted was rotten to me when I dared to suggest that TVRs have a reputation for being unreliable. I now won't ever suggest that again for fear of retribution.

I agree there. It is nice kit, but could be better. The quality of sound is good, but you can't crank it high enough. Personally I don't think the 950w is worth the upgrade. After all the real music is coming out of the rear pipes

Oh... and given PAG's Volvo connections (and you're going to laugh at me here) one would expect the stereo to be first class. The system in my V70 honestly is the best I have heard fitted as standard by a manufacturer, Aston could do worse than to just lift the Premium Upgrade Volvo system.
