Hello folks,

I know it is rumoured that total DBS build number is around 3,400. But does anyone know how many special editions were built? I am particularly interested in the 2011 Carbon Edition (black) but I am aware of the other special editions:

Carbon Black (2009)
UB-2010 Limited Edition (2010) - 40 built
Year of the Dragon 88 Limited Edition (2012) - 88 built

Would be good to get numbers on (I) the Carbon Black and (II) the Carbon Edition, particularly in black.

Any ideas?

Cheers

DBS UB2010

only 10 coupes were built and 13 Volantes. One of which was manual (which is probably the one that belongs to Ulich Bez). There is one Coupe in Australia (Auctioned in 2011 by Southeby's). I know of one volante in Japan and one in the Monaco area (recently on sale for £225K). One volante in NL. I believe a UK UB2010 was sold by Mayfair into Malaysia a few years back. I know of two volantes (4k and 14k miles) in the UK and one coupe.

Indeed it is. Very curious. Do you have a rare snippets about V12V's? Or how many V12 Zagato were actually built?

The (only) DBS UB2010 Volante Manual is the one in NL (Netherlands), not owned by UB himself.

BTW, total number of manual DBS Volantes is less then 60, but the exact numbers of DBS (coupes, volantes, TT, manual, etc) produced was about to be published by a fellow forum (and AMOC) member, still did not see it however?

Indeed. Originally the plan was for 150. Well in fact originally the plan was for V12 Zagato to be available in several guises of 'extremity', but that was watered down before it even got to the allocation/selling stage. The first official sales packs/contracts had a limit of 150. They expected them to sell very quickly. When it proved to be a hard sell (partly the climate at the time, partly no symbolic power or mechanical upgrade over the donor car), that number was reduced to 101 and they extended the sales period from a few months to many months. There is some doubt over the exact number but all reliable sources point to either the number in that link or certainly a very similar number. The confusion is partly down to whether people are including the prototypes and race cars referred to in that link - IIRC, the villa d'este car which launched the model, which was a race car version (the road car had a narrower track and slightly different bodywork, different gearbox, exhaust, etc), went on to be part of the zig and zag double act which raced at several endurance events

I seem to recall a production figure of 70 V12 Zagato's cars being mentioned to me by an AM salesman, but I may be mistaken.

that's reasonable as a figure of speech but fairly happy the exact number starts with a 6 or possibly, a 5

Hi guys, old post I know but I've recently acquired a DBS Carbon edition so did some digging with AM (I'm interested in these things) and they told me:-

3400 total made
Approx 30% stayed in UK
375 carbon editions made of which 250 in black

My model year is 2012 and in that year 65 carbon editions made of which 31 in black ...if we assume only 30% stayed in the UK that suggests only about 20 carbon editions 2012 models in the UK

That explains why I had my work cut out trying to find one!

Enjoy!

Nice find SuperChilled. They are superb cars. And 2012 with the added bonus on modern(ish) Sat Nav and other nice touches. Classy motor.

The (supposedly) official figure that I was given for my Limited Edition and Special Edition Table is 65.

The improved table is now ready, but I am waiting for the end of Vantage production (V600 model) before posting.

Great, did expect your publication in AMOC magazine already last year, but let's wait and see. Will your table also differentiate in TT and Manual gearbox? And in LHD and RHD?

I think we might possibly be at cross purposes AWV12.

The table which I referred to, is a tidied up version of data compiled in a topic some time ago, about all of the Vantage Limited Editions and Special Editions.

You must be talking about DBS. I was just answering a question (off topic), about the V12 Vantage Zagato.

Thanks Dobie

You'll never believe I actually found it via Pistonheads! I was asking on the forums about whether to move from a 2015 db9 to a 2012 dbs and a member approached me and said he had one to sell and the rest is history ... really pleased and as you say I wanted the 2012 as I knew it had the updated satnav etc
