Costco only seem to list Pilot Super Sports on their website, and then not in our sizes.
I shall ask for a quote the next time I do a shop there, not with any great expectation.
I'd only be interested if they could supply the tyres unfitted, for me to get my local Aston agent to fit them. Costco's price would have to be astronomically cheaper to make it worthwhile, though!

I called them before I got mine. They could get them but at that time were not cheaper. However, when they have offers on, they are - I got quotes before Christmas (PSS then I think) and at that time they were under £800 for 4 but couldn't get all 4.

Anybody know what the letters "XL" mean in Michelin labelling?

I've found two options, one XL which is more expensive and one without.

Just doing my homework before buying......
This has confused me too. The load rating like 95Y or 99Y means the higher the number the greater the weight that tyre can take. You must get the right load rating. My 20" front PSS only came in a 99Y XL as opposed to the specced 95Y. No issues - poss a snidge stiffer/tougher in sidewall?

I must admit never to have found the OE bridgestone lacking enough to bother changing on my old 4.3 Vantage. Since ive had the 4.7 ive noticed myself spinning up the rears when its remotely damp, on more occasions in a few months than the previous 9 years total.

I understand now what people are on about with the need to try the Michelins. My new car is just turned 4 years old and on its 2nd set of Bridgestones, so its not like they are old and hard.

Its really noticeable....amazing the difference just a bit more torque has had on the old Bridgestones.....Michelins it will be next time, which at the rate of wheel spin going on, wont be long smile

Slight thread resurrection here but,
Is it just me or have all the PS4S tyres disappeared?
No regular online retailer seems to stock them of late.

Is the product changing or is it just the time of year?

There is a thread on PH somewhere, saw it the other day, that there is a shortage of PS4's apparently all over.

Just had the rear ps4s 275/35 fitted. Having the front 235/40 next week. I was told the rears were in short supply non in stock at manufacturer and were located via broker the next day. Plenty of fronts about.

Anyone had success finding the larger "S" wheel sizes ? can you get a full set of Michelin P4S now ? last time i searched they are not available anywhere in the UK:

245/40 ZR19
285/35 ZR19

During my search I have seen the Yokohama Advan sport which have a similar rating to the P4S from magazine tests, they are available in correct sizes, so may give a set of those a try next time. I have had Advan Sport on another car some years ago and they were really nice.

You can get the rears, but the fronts still aren't being sold in the UK.

I think the Continental SportContact 6 is pretty comparable in all aspects except wear.

thanks, ive seen the Continental option, im assuming you mean they wear much faster than the MIchelins as this is my experience of Conti on other cars. Ive had the Conti as OE fitment before on 2 vehicles and they barely lasted 20k miles. Changed to Michelins on both and got 30-35k miles.

Bogie how do you get 30k miles out of any set of tyres - do you have no driven wheels? biggrin

I have got 20 out of Eagle F1 fronts on a 530d (having the dog in the back helps) but never on a sports car!

Really good uplift on Michelins though if that was same car and same driving style.

That is on my daily driver not the Vantage smile .... I can get 30- 35k miles out of Michelin Latitude Diamaris XL on my Range Rover Sport and on a Range Rover before that...it spends most of its life on long motorway journeys.... still, its outstanding for a 2.5 ton vehicle.

You need to try the Michelins on the 530d smile ...on my Vantage with Bridgestones probably get 15 to 20k depending on front/rear and if I in summer may let them go as low as the wear markers before changing.

I did put MPSS on the next car, the 535d, and both rears punctured within 1000 miles eekeekeek - so went back to F1's and have no stats (or further punctures). Absolutely unprecedented that puncturage before or since.

I might just get 18k out of the Michelin fronts on the Macan, but 12k on the rears will be good going. A 440bhp featherweight that nips past most wafting Range Rovers who are understandably admiring their nicer interior (no cost option) and an in car entertainment system that is vaguely fathomable laughwink All twisty Wales mind not those awful modern English 'Smart' motorway things!

18k miles tyre life in a Macan turbo does not sound so bad ....mind you I reckon I could knock 10k miles off the tyre life easy enough If I was driving B roads daily versus just get on the motorway and hit the cruise control .....

I've put the Conti's on my V8S and found them very good. I've heard they wear quicker but at about 20% less cost than the Michelins I feel the cost per mile will be on par.

I did find the PS4S's lasted well but Cup 2's I could get through in 4-5k miles!

I posted about the Contis here:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=17...

They are now happily on my replacement V8VS. Still only good news to report, but not enough mikes to assess wear.

Reply from my query to Michelin.....

Regarding your query, we have contacted the MICHELIN stock and they advised that the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 S 275/35 R19 will be in stock from February 2019.
We are sorry for any inconveniences.
Kind regards,

Goodyear will be releasing the new F1 SuperSport range around the same time, might be worth seeing what they're like as an alternative (if they have the right sizes!).

I'm in the need of 4 new tyres, with the Pilot Sport 4 out of stock, what would be the next best option? Thanks in advance.
