AM JCT600 in Leeds are brilliant - its the only car dealer I have ever dealt with where I have had zero complaints ever (and Ive owned Astons now for almost 8 years). Bit of a trek from S Yorkshire, but I'm fairly sure they do a collect and return service if you ask.
Yes they do.

Excellent to deal with too.

I have had 3 services on 2 Astons done at Works - each time have dealt with Simon Voakes - all under fixed pricing menu - no issues and everything completed on time with no surprises.
I used collection and delivery , loan car and then just drop off and collect and again all were fine.
Collection bit of a pain given the transporter only has set days to return which on a daily driver could be an issue.
Downside of Works ? Turning right after inside reception towards the workshop and Stanton suggesting a coffee.

Just had my DB9 serviced (again) with AMW on their fixed price scheme. Dealt with David Webb - excellent service, observations all very reasonable, no pressure to do unnecessary/costly work. I recommend them.

Guys - isnt 'Works' 'just' another manufacturer franchised 'main dealer'? Or are they an Aston only one-off so things may be a bit different to the big turnover groups that may sell many marques nationwide?

Looking at my upcoming service now and MD seems better value than an Indie I really like - I won't personally even need to leave the house for the service, take the day off work, put 200 miles on her and buy any fuel..! confused

I believe "works" is owned by the factory.

DB9 dropped off at works this morning for a misfire check. Dealing with David Webb. So far very good. Will see how the quote compares to others for coils and plugs though...

Thought it would be worth relaying my experience, once the car was back and the story was complete...

So the quote was sensible enough having also asked BR. I knew it was going to be more. I was keen to minimise driving the car and get it sorted as soon as possible. Works was much nearer and I could drop the car off on the way to work. I nursed the car over to works in mid April, before I went abroad. No collection offered, and no courtesy drop off at my work in MK 5 miles away. Perhaps its simply because I didn't ask... ?

I hoped to return to the UK a week later and it would be ready. Contact with David via email was good every other day. I also asked if I could have the number plates replaced. Just before I returned home he mentioned that they had noticed a suspected issue with the fan control module, which was almost continually running the fan. It took a further 2 weeks to confirm the problem was the module itself, order a replacement, receive it and fit it. This was a little frustrating, as I'd only decided to do the work as the car was in there anyway. I was very keen to get it back. There wasn't the greatest communication during this time. No contact unless I phoned to check on progress.

Final the car was ready, but again no offer to drop it off at my home. (I live around 25 miles/40 mins away) As I am in work all week, we agreed I would get dropped off on Saturday and collect the car from sales (service only open Mon-Fri 8-6 and 4pm on fri). Collection was straight forward. Car drove perfectly, and I was very happy.

Until I went to put the car away. Immediately I noticed a new 3" scratch the moment I went to connect the battery conditioner. It was clearly fresh and staring me in the face. As I'd polished the car to go to Simply Aston, immediately before the misfire occurred, I was 100% confident the scratch was not there before I dropped the car off. The car is immaculate. A quick email and photo was sent, and David responded on Monday morning saying he would look into it from his side. By Friday I'd heard nothing, but it was Bonhams auction week... I phoned to ask what was happening. David phoned me back to apologise and asked me to bring the car back in for inspection. However, he did agree that it must have happened whilst in their care and was keen to address the issue.

A week later I had the car in the body shop for 45 minutes of buffing and polishing. The scratch is almost invisible now, but in the right light still there. Without prompting David said that they weren't happy with the result and that at a later date they would happily re-detail the bumper fully FOC, when it fitted my schedule.

So in summary, I'd say the work was thorough but not rapid. David was always very personable, and it was understandable that the Bonhams Auction could have distracted him from getting back to me. He did not need persuading that the scratch was their fault, and did all he could to try to resolve the issue at the time. I'm realistic to know that the occasional accident can always happen, but disappointed that it happened. The most frustrating part was the musical chairs with cars, and getting to and from work, and the replacement of the fan module. But better to make sure that that was the problem part, rather than replacing it , or anything else, unnecessarily.

Will I go back? Yes

Another thumbs up for AM works.

Good service. Reasonable price and no pushing of things like brakes. Unlike some other dealers who advised brake pads to be changed when 50% worn. AMW said should last me a few thousand miles (possibly a couple of years at my usage)

Just checked my emails back to when i bought my V12. The owner had the car booked into JCT for its annual service(full JCT history) and asked me if i wanted them to check and put right anything all in warranty. I told him of three things which i see he informed JCT of by email. Not one of these items was addressed, so imo very poor service from this dealer especially considering they knew this customer well.
I would never use them from this experience.

Just adding some praise of AM Works.

It was professional, fast and efficient the whole way through. That is rare.

There was no crazy up-sell after I handed the car in. Instead the report that came back just provided detail, proving to me that they had given the car a careful look. Even items that they noted, they were the first to say were just items to keep an eye on and not to replace.

I was amazed that they were going to do the work all in a day. Previous Aston and (experience from my previous car) Maserati dealers and specialists all wanted the car for a few days at least.

Then there's the knowledge that in terms of skill, you are at Aston Martin Works. Getting a walk round was just incredible.

Their fixed price servicing is brilliant and better priced then anywhere I have previous looked.

Price, skill, honesty, customer service and the fact you get a walk around a car factory...I just cannot see how they can be beaten.

Yep, what Flugplatz said. I live miles away from Works. But they are sooo much better than the dealer network I get my car there early, and stay the night in The Swann Revived, just down the road. There is an amazing Indian in NP so the evening is sorted. Then a trip to Works for a look about and in the PM onto Bletchley Park Museum to learn all about Enigma. David Webb is sublime in his approach and gives so much time up for you. He spent over two hours taking me round the workshops and is incredibly knowledgable. It was extremely interesting (especially watching the DB4 GT's being put together, the plethora of Zagatos, and all the 80's vehicles - I went there as a member of the AM Young Supporters Club in the '80's and it was nice to see cars being built there again).

They have my business, and when I change the car, I will only buy from them - they genuinely are that good. Oh, and I saved over £500 on a service compared to my local stealer. What's not to love?

I'm already booked in for the next service, in 12 months time.

Maybe I shouldn't be saying all this... I don't want them to get too busy.

£500 saving? I thought an annual service from a stealer was around £800, so you paid £300?

I received the very best of service. Car collected and so carefully loaded. Works phoned several times during the week it was away to discuss the car and progress. Totally flexible with the cars return. The chap who delivered it was a real petrol head. Felt like I was dealing with real enthusiasts all the way through the process.

Car came back serviced, no additional work found and spotless. MOT done ready for the Summer. So a big thumbs up from me

My experience of Works was mixed. The service manager was great, it is such a fantastic place for an Aston fan to look around (did get a tour) but the service to me was just like the best of the other main dealers have tried.

Fixed price servicing (like all other dealers offer)
Recommendation to change rear pads and handbrake pads at approx £500 fitted - left this job, as its easy DIY on a Sunday morning.

When checked the pads myself, they were barely 1/2 worn and couldn't find anything wrong with handbrake pads.

I guess its like this at all dealers - there are some guidelines "if under xx mm then replace" so when borderline on their measurement its easy for a tech to error on sign of caution (throwing it out further). You can end up having pads replaced that maybe have another 2 years life in them at 5K miles a year road use wink

Next time you are at AMW its also worth popping into Desmond Smail in Olney - really nice little AM indy. Olney is also a nice market town to have a strole around.
