North East Meet and Drive
Discussion
Hi all
After speaking to Loose Cannon we wondered if there is any mileage (argh!) in organising a meet up for PH Astons (and their owners) in the North East of England?
As you know we have some great roads, scenery and places to meet.
We were initially thinking of somewhere starting or ending in Co Durham as it's pretty central for Northumberland, Cumbria, Teesside etc but we can always adapt as required.
I gues the one thing we shouldn't compromise on is bacon butties in the morning and somewhere nice for a light lunch or cuppa later.
As it's the first time we've done this we won't be too ambitious and look maybe a 3/4 hour timescale.
Prelimary date is 1000am Sunday 7th May. Again we can be flexible if required.
If you are interested add your details below. Where you would be coming from and any location preferences. I hope we can get at least 6 cars together at the first attempt.
1. James@Witton. Virage. Bishop Auckland. Flexible on venue.

As a destination of interest for a lunch stop on a "run out", or even as a full-on day's car show, I have spoken to Bowes Museum who seem very accommodating to car clubs.
Apart from being a spectacular and appropriate backdrop for quintessentially British cars, it has a cracking cafe with a seperate room and special menu for groups if required.
There is also reduced entry to the museum of £7 pp if paid all in one go.
They will allow *marshalled* parking at the frontage tucked away between the entrance porch and "wings", but do ask owners bring drip trays or mats (I know this isn't a concern to more modern cars but it shows willing). Overspill parking or parking for those wanting to disappear regularly for a jaunt into the country roads could be around the semicircular drive, again providing a nice photo opportunity.

Looks great but I'm not sure I could get the whole day which is I would probably need, so I must decline. Would LOVE to go next year though.
If any others who had said yes/maybe fancy the trip to Newby it looks like it will be a fantastic event.
I'll still be trying for the NE run though.
