AMR forged wheel is worth adding IMO
With the aerokit and titanium exhaust as well as lightweight seat, interior options etc wouldn't it be more like £200k, especially with AMR wheels.

Remember though, what's value to one man may well not be to another........ wink

Lightweight seats are a must very comfortable on a long journey, my wife and I did over 10 hrs and were as fresh as a daisy when we got home. They also add to the driving experience as others have said.

Hi guys,

New to forum but not to Aston Martin, V8s manual was my first car, now have Vanquish.

I missed out on the V12 AMR, but have been offered the V8. Not sure about value although I love the thought of another manual Vantage.

Any thoughts?

As has been touched on above, 'value' is a very subjective concept. Depending on what options you throw at it, you could end up with a very expensive V8 Vantage which is still mechanically identical to a standard V8VS.

It does come back to the whole n/a engine + manual 'box thing, for me, and this could be the last opportunity to get your hands on one, if that's important to you.

The V8 is obviously more closely related to the AMR racecar and therefore you could argue there's provenance and a great piece of timing from AML.

If a manual Vantage is what you're after, £90k would get you into a lovely 6sp V12V. But if you want to spec (with constraints!!) a new car and own what *could* be an important car in the history of AML then you could do a lot worse than a V8 AMR coupe in Halo spec with Aero, AMR wheels and Ti exhaust!!

Word is that they have, but at the likely realistic prices discussed above I would imagine there are still one or two available somewhere if you make enough calls. Are you tempted then Matt?

I knew some people had not given their specification to the dealer yet so there is a slim chance some might become available.

Although all those dealers wanted a 10k deposit to be first in line for dropouts... So it might be an idea to call around.

Specification and order completed today. I went for the following

Coupe Manual
Stirling Green
Halo
Aero
Titanium Exhaust
CF lightweight Seats
Accessory Kit
Tracker

Dealer checked with AM production and once all kit fitted i will be left with spare standard CF front splinter, both side cill's and rear diffuser

Replacement cill's are all CF so you can paint top to match body or leave as full CF

I'm informed from my dealer all V12's sold, in fact well over subscribed. Still a few V8's left but not many.

V12 allocation was 1 per UK dealer but a few have managed to secure two. With only 20ish UK dealers than means around 30 UK cars

congrats

if you weren't aware they were dropped, you might want to consider rear environment leather (£395) and metal fuel cap (£200), two options that used to be standard on vantage but I believe were both dropped in recent years.

Very good point Jonby, I too would really recommend the rear environment leather - worth every penny. The carpet just doesn't cut the mustard in a car of that value.

Fuel cap is less of a biggie and the std black plastic one is identical other than the material it is constructed from - and of course it can be added in later at the same cost. The rear leather would be a lot more hassle to upgrade retrospectively.

Not really thought about this before but given the rear environment leather cost is a fixed price, does that mean it's done in Caithness if the rest of the car is Caithness and strathmore if the rest of the car is strathmore ?

On the fuel cap, I seem to recall hearing the plastic cap that is now standard (I've never actually seen one) doesn't have a tether. My metal one (standard fitment) does. I assume when the metal cap is ordered as an option on a new car, it is also tethered ? My dealer tells me they effectively never see a car without the metal fuel cap, other than db11 which iirc doesn't have any kind of cap ?

so that's a little shy of £200k with a few extras, I know its going to be very rare but that's a lot of money

Interesting - how much is Project 8 going to be?

Re your spec - as above feedback really that the rear enviro leather is well worth having at £395

I can perhaps help with 3 of the 4 items you are waiting for prices on:
  • Carbon roof panel - £5995 (on GT8/GT12)
  • Carbon Tail gate panel - £1995 (on GT8/GT12) (includes the infills - so a relative bargain really!)
  • GT12 Door cards
  • Roll cage

I'd add the interior carbon pack. On such a high spec car the piano black door bits wouldn't cut it for me as they were on the original car.
