I can't fathom whose side many of you are on.

When the company was struggling people moaned
When the company made slight amends to a model to make a special edition to keep the fan base happy, people moaned
The company brings in models that appeal to a wider audience, more moaning
The company changes its styling in light of criticism that everything looks the same, more moaning
The company partners with one of the best engine manufacturers in the world, more moaning
The company ditches N/A engines like everyone else to offer greater power and efficiency, moaning
The company gets criticised for having an ageing line-up so promises a new car every year, moans ensue
The company is now at record profit levels, still moaning

AML does all of this while still being an independent, BRITISH manufacturer something which would cause even more moaning if that ever stopped.

What will it take to make you happy?

I have watched the film. I think the film maker is called a Video Blogger. He has certainly put us in our place.
Every criticism we have made, on goodness knows how many pages here, are all entirely wrong.

There are only two tiny things wrong with the new Vantage, and neither have even been mentioned by any one on here yet.
1. The interior door handles are not perfect. I think it might have pinched his finger.
2. When the engine start button is pressed, the iPad screen states 'DB 11'.

Everything else is perfect, although he would love to have some of the many options available.

One aspect that he particularly liked, was how the seat adjustment controls are positioned on the side of the transmission tunnel. (Wonder where that idea came from).

He told us it was a Wednesday in Beverley Hills, and the only places in the world with as many supercars on the streets, are Monaco and some other place, which I now cannot remember.

What do you think about these motoring video makers
I was going to say the guy is an idiot, but that would be rude.

He lost me in the the first 40 seconds, when he said the new vantage is so much better looking than the current.

Not knowing that the seat adjustments are the same place they have always been.

His statement about Beverly Hills. I don't know but I have to imagine but have no first had knowledge parts of London, Dubai, Hong Kong and others are right up there with exotic autos.

The curse of social media is that it works incredibly well as a tool for negativity but much less effectively for positivity

It's a British thing, we're only happy when we're miserable wink

The marque is in a good place, the people who work there are pumped up to produce good stuff, and they're at the top of their game, I hope it continues. The disliking of the new Vantage's front end will hopefully reduce over time once people see them in the metal in a better choice of colour.

Yes, some of the things he was saying was cringe worthy but that's YouTube bloggers and when you see how many people "subscribe" some run into over a million. And this is where Aston are most likely aiming for with the "edgy" design on the new Vantage. He seems to think its ok but the more, dare I say conservative amongst us all on there, seem to be against it.
How many footballers (sorry to use the often spoken analogy!) are in Aston cars at the moment? Usually its the odd Ferrari, RR Sports or Bentleys. Maybe Aston want a football player in their cars to appeal to the younger "with money" generation. Its those people that seem to embrace these electric cars like Tesla's whereas back to us conservative lot (!) we want manual noisy cars!
I do like the new car except the front and the sign on the back to remind everyone its a Aston Martin!

I love the new vantage, but then I’ve always been good at seeing and appreciating new design fairly quickly. For others it needs to settle in - for many in this forum, that settling in period is about 10 years (at a guess).

This ain’t an aston fan forum. This is an aston bashing forum for people who claim to love the brand but go out of their way denigrate everything the company does.

Well done to the aston team. The new era of cars are gorgeous and to me are Aston Martin through and through. I will have a new aston again soo.

Wait 'till AM bring out the DBX - you will hear moaning like no other. When Porsche brought out the Cayenne, pretty much everyone moaned. But the Cayenne saved Porsche.

I’m excited about what AM are doing right now, and it’s great that the company is running in profit.
As for the new Vantage, I have to say although I like most of the perspectives of the new model (whisper it.....particularly the new back end vs. the old model), I didn’t like the front end at all when I first saw the photos. However, I’ve found myself coming around to it over the last day or so.

Well being British and at this time of year - some Sun!

But not too hot I'm fair skinned
And not first thing in the morning if I'm driving - that low winter sun in your eyes is blinding.
Actually thinking about it - not late afternoon when driving - that low winter sun in your eyes is blinding.
Don't want a cold wind with it either
I wish the leave would fall of the oaks quick so I don't have to keep sweeping them up
Need a good windy day for that.
But only if its sunny.

Brits - we love a good moan

Old vantage looks both beautiful AND incredibly dated next to the new one. That's the way it should be.

Those with an outgoing one, to quote Chris Harris in his video of manual V12VS, should be very happy indeed with their purchase.

If you want something that looks like old vantage, with a n/a engine and an old fashioned box, I've got a really amazing revolutionary idea for you that solves all your problems - stop putting up photoshops of new vantage with a different grille that it will never have and do what I did - buy an outgoing vantage.

You can still just about buy a V8 AMR I think (showroom spec), for about the price of a no frills new vantage, for much quicker delivery

Personally I think the new one looks stunning - my jaw hit the floor when I first saw it, which was quite some time ago. When it was finally publicly revealed, my jaw hit the floor again. I aspire to own one alongside my V12 AMR. But not to replace it. Because they are totally different cars from totally different eras. Which is as it should be.

Funny enough the "improved" ph photoshops just show how right aston have this design . The big eyed one , the slant eyed one , the db 11 front one , are helping the actual Vantage .
Keep them coming and don't give up the day job !

The first line about making our v12s look both beautiful and dated all in one go is probably the line that resonates with me more than any other on this thread , spot on

I like it, but in the right colour. The lime green is not great IMHO, and only serves to make the headlights look too small and the front look bulbous. When the car is in a more muted colour, I think it looks great! Especially the rear.

And you know what? For the first time in decades, AM are in profit. Yeah, sure, If I'm brutally honest, I love the fact that my AM isn't as common on the roads as Porsches, or some Fezzas and I'm sure there are now going to be more AM's because this will appeal to the more mainstream.

But who really can complain that Dr. Palmer and his band of merry men aren't doing something that needs to be done, and has been for years.

If this helps keep the Aston Martin on the up, then I'm smiling.

(Mind you, I did buy some tickets to try to win Red10, which is the last of the old-skool classics).

It's funny - I didn't like the new Range Rover when it came out, or the new Discovery, or the Porsche 991, but - apart from the tailgate of the Discovery -, they've all grown on me!

... But not in Lime green.
