Also have a green one for AdamV12V, erm yeah I parked it in EXACTLY the same spot as the purple one.
Edit: Have to say the more I look at this, the more I love it

quite like it in purple.

You’re spot on. The black is clearly photoshopped from another colour and given how few dealer cars there are it’s obvious it’s the red car. That’s down to the interior and the red highlights you can see in places.
It might be a trick of the light but to me the embroidery on the set looks really naff and seems to have puckered the leather.Wouldn't be happy with that on a new Aston
Amari has added a video of 'his Vantage' now...

This is a pre production vehicle. Dealers have made that very clear when these vehicles have been shown to customers. You can’t judge the whole production run on these examples. Wouldn't be happy with that on a new Aston
Saw my first one out in the wild today along the A45 by Coventry. Car in dark-ish grey with black wheels etc
It looked extremely purposeful and had real presence.
The basic shape is spot on, and the actually the nose treatment worked too.
The form/function balance has shifted with the Vantage towards function, and for the sports car of the range I now think it works. Want smooth - go DB11, want performance focus go Vantage.
Maybe Andy and the team just need us to catch up with where they are - not unusual when making bold design choices

It's going to be interesting seeing how it all goes. Remembering the last Vantage, when it was launched everybody was blown away by its styling but maybe not by its performance - it was not a real match for things like a 911 in the driving department.
This one seems to have nailed the driving bit, but is less of a wow universally on the looks front.
In many ways a similar position to the DB11- not quite as gorgeous as the DB9 but almost certainly drives better.
Sales will be the real judge and it will be fascinating to look at the comparative between old and new once launched. It has been great to read driving reviews that can actually fully praise the new cars with no reservations but kind of sad to see how hard it has been for us all to let go of the perfection that was the last generation's looks.
I certainly hope that AM have judged this one right. We'll all know in 12 months I guess.

Keep an eye on the 'AML - NEW UK SALES' topic next year.
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
The DB11 UK sales (as at 31 Dec 2017) are running well behind the comparative period DB9, and the 2005 Vantage was a big seller initially, so yes, it will be fascinating.
That earlier period of good sales did make the Company profitable for a few years, but as DB9 and Vantage sales slowed (the 2008 recession did not help), then the Company losses returned.
Good sales of the new Vantage in 2019, and then the 'DBX' in 2020/21 will be key, because new models usually tend to become slower sellers by year 3 or 4.

Forgive my ignorance here, but what was the point of Amari pulling this stunt in the first place, I'm confused.
They obviously don't and never had a new Vantage for sale (for reasons outlined by previous posters), so what's the point in advertising one ? So say I was interested.....I phone them and they tell me it's sold......and that they cannot get another one.....at which point I just walk into the MD and order one for less money than no doubt Amari would want if they DID have one.
I can't see how Amari get anything from this at all (other than look a bit stupid).
Am I missing something ?

Amari does it a lot, photoshops and advertises cars he doesn’t have.
F40, Enzo, he has even shopped his plate onto a Zonda Cinque on his Twitter.
Just makes him look even more pathetic but I don’t think he understands, I think he actually believes his own lies.
YouTuber MrJWW has got a new Vantage long termer. Firstly - that’s incredible as it’s the first car driven out of he factory not by an employee (well that’s debatable as he has been in AM’s employ before) and he’s got one way before any mags.
Secondly - looks like it’s the stunning China Grey one from behind the scenes arbitrary geneva, just without the fancy expensive Pirelli tyres with yellow trim.

That's very nice. I must admit that China Grey as a colour is really growing on me. There's a rather splendid China Grey DB11 at AM Nottingham that rather takes my fancy. Note to self - do not pop in there for a free coffee.Secondly - looks like it’s the stunning China Grey one from behind the scenes arbitrary geneva, just without the fancy expensive Pirelli tyres with yellow trim.

Wasn’t that the car in the Q ‘Salon’ at Geneva?Secondly - looks like it’s the stunning China Grey one from behind the scenes arbitrary geneva, just without the fancy expensive Pirelli tyres with yellow trim.

I’m genuinely baffled when people post the MX-5 like this. They have headlights and an open grille, that’s the only difference. The headlights are a totally different shape, positioned in a different place relative to the bonnet and grille. And the grille itself is a completely different shape. Just lazy commenting. telum01 said:
Unless they got rid of the forward crash structure, there's no way they dropped 15-20 kg off the nose of the car. And it's a pretty safe bet that they didn't do that.
The 4:45 mark in Mr JWW's video shows the front bumper armature is there, looks to be the made the same as the previous Vantage's (cast aluminum structure). So yeah, the 15-20 kg excuse for getting rid of the traditional grille is complete hogwash.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
