I can certainly see me getting one perhaps next year (decent used example). I've been through the following stages with the new Vantage:
1) Don't like it
2) Like it all except the front
3) Hmmmm, front looks OK in the right colour
4) Maybe it's not that bad actually
5) Add carbon bits and it improves a lot
6) Yep.....I want one
It really is such a colour sensitive shape though. I love Morning Frost, but I just can't see it working on that car. I saw one in Zaffre blue at Works and it looked bloody fantastic. Also it looks superb in dark grey (Ceramic or Magnetic Silver). If you add the CF louvred side side vents etc it looks damn good.
Sadly though, even with the strong discounts and cracking finance offers, I just couldn't bring myself to buy a new one as I just know it's still burning piles of cash. Once these drop into the 60's, then for me it's a no brainer.

Agree but 60s is a hell of a drop! Where does that put the old fleet?!
I would like one in skyfall silver with carbon extras... and I would also like one in the full race livery with a huge GT wing. For weekends.
As for the tattoos; I guess it means he's awaiting sponsorship for his right arm.

Be careful about viewing stock levels in the US (I’m sure you know this already). People typically buy cars in the US from dealer stock rather than bespoke factory orders (the norm in the UK). Non-European sales of Vantage have gone pretty well.
You can normally get huge discounts on a car sitting on the lot. Most likely no discounts or deals on a custom order. I believe most people don't want to wait if they decide to buy, and if can save 10's of thousands of dollars the better. In the past Aston dealers have given massive discounts off MSRP. Would imagine the same still holds true. Big Ry said:

I had a month with a new Vantage earlier in the year, great car and hopefully if I get back into sports cars I will be looking at one. As many people say it does not feel as much a replacement for the Previous model but something a little more mainstream. Like most modern sports and supercars its miles ahead as it is much more useable.

Lovely colour but all the over-the-top addenda just make it look ridiculous.Do you think, in seeking a new breed of customers, Aston Martin have moved their design from tradition, elegance, sporty but with understated reserve, to a more ‘shouty‘ philosophy. The sports car industry now has a fashion for aerodynamic attachments, protrusions and scoops (sometimes even dummy ones blanked off). It perhaps creates the impression of a racing car, but none of it probably has any practical benefit until you try taking corners at 100 mph.
I chanced upon an historic piece of Aston Martin forum, which amused me.
In 2006 they wished contributors would stop ‘whinging about the design of the cars !!‘. - -

That is amusing. ‘Twas ever thus! I chanced upon an historic piece of Aston Martin forum, which amused me.

Of course, this smugness is justified by the company’s current unassailable strength, and record sales figures. Oh wait.
