I went for matched stitching and embossed AM wings in the headrests as opposed to embroidered. Never been a fan of contrast stitch.
The dealership have said since the car was ordered to my spec, they’ll have to sell it before my deposit can be returned, but obviously they don’t expect that to take too long.

Not sure what went wrong with thumbsnap - my post has five images in it but the post will never show all of them?!

Aston Martin - if you are reading this, give us more wheel choices!!! A five-spoke design would be welcomed!
Choice will always be good. Did the previous Vantage have any wheel choices at launch? I only seem to see the earlyoriginal ones with a single multispoke design.

Having said that, the wheels on Venturist’s silver example are truly beautiful. Much nicer than any designs for the previous Vantage apart from the very rare V12 Zagato ones.

I wanted DB11’s diamond turned directional wheels a la DB10 which I think really suit the style of the car. Q were supposed to be on the case, but were too swamped to make it happen before delivery, so I was going to buy the wheels on their own and swap them over myself. Why they weren’t offered as an option I have no idea.

I was told from the start that if I drove the car and did not like it then I could have my deposit back, that is what I did and no issues. Only precondition was that I did not put together some crazy spec that they could not sell.

Remarkably understanding by Aston! Never would have imagined a deposit would be refunded. But I guess it’s so in demand they aren’t actually going to lose out.

Deposit is with the dealer and dealer pays Aston, it's the dealer that refunds so they have to be confident they can sell the car.

If it's not too personnel, what sort of figure was needed as a deposit, I've got friends with deposits spread over a number of manufacturers speculating on car choices and they range from £1k to £20k scratchchin

That looks a really nice Vantage, shame you're not taking her home, I don't think it'll be around too long.

Who would like to analyse this?

1. There has been considerable adverse comment about the Mk2 Vantage frontal appearance.

2. I cannot recall any adverse comments about the Vulcan frontal appearance.

rofl Come on, that's rather like comparing a Mini with a MINI and saying they look the same!

That’s a very fair situation the dealership put you in , win win for you.

Well done them .

I think that silver car looks awful, and Jaguarish.

I’m not a fan either, the wheels are hideous, they look like they should be on a RR not a super car. I should add that I would have kept my thoughts to myself if it wasn’t a cancelled order smile

The Vulcan's front end has a lot of detail that works together. The various lines, panels, openings, etc, are all integrated into one unified front end. The Vantage is exactly not that. It has a smooth front bumper fascia with a large grille frame unceremoniously stuck onto the front. Zero integration, zero cohesion. It doesn't look like it belongs there, doesn't look like it's even part of the car.

Thanks, I’ll take it as a compliment if it’s used putting rude asses like you down. That’s a car that someone in here spent a long time speccing up to be their own, but decided not to for financial reasons.

No need to be so rude about it really is there?

Did not feel i was being rude, as you say car is cancelled and was just giving my opinion on the colour and wheels really.

You on the other hand have made a personal insult to me not just once but now twice.

Perhaps we should meet at Grange and discuss the new Vantage and let me apologise for offending you.
