As you all know it was my stated intention to keep the car for a year to assist the RAF Benevolent Fund through the medium of fund-raising & to raise awareness of the fantastic work the charity performs supporting serving & retired RAF airmen & women. The window of opportunity to attend events tails off dramatically towards the end of September so we have decided to cut the year a little short.

We have a few more events to attend before it's passed onto Simon, as follows:

1. Biggin Hill Air Show, 18 - 19 Aug 18
2. RAF100 - Bournemouth Airport, 24 - 26 Aug 18
3. Heroes at Highclere Castle, 8 - 9 Sep 18
4. Red 10 Goes Home to Gaydon, Fri 14 Sep 18. The last outing accompanying the RAF Benevolent HQ team to AML to pick up a cheque from Andy Palmer (RAF BF is one of their supported charities).

We've raised just over £1300 (not including 25% Gift Aid) through online donations (JustGiving: https://www.justgiving.com/Humphrey-Bradley?utm_so... & bucket collections at all the events we have been to over the last 9 months. Hopefully we can raise a bit more in the next couple of months & through the sale.

Philippa & I have had the time of our lives with Red 10 & it's allowed us to go places we wouldn't normally visit & meet some outstanding people (including many of you that we now consider to be our friends).

We will bereft when she goes, but I cannot imagine not owning an Aston Martin & hope to be in another one (perhaps a little less conspicuous) soon after she finds a new home.

Here are a few of the high points:

Just a fantastic story cool you have been such a great custodial to Red 10 Humphrey smile could not think of a more deserved winner. I’m also heading to Biggin Hill Sunday, to say I’m excited to be able to see Red 10 in the flesh is an understatement, be prepared for a good looking grey haired young man approaching with the intention of a little nosey biggrin

Heartily agree: had the pleasure of viewing Red 10 & having a quick chat with your wife at the London Motorfair. As my friend said at the time, I'd still not quite recovered from the disappointment of not winning (&, frankly, still working on that grumpy...), but great to see such a fabulous machine being cared for by a great custodian & first owner clap!

Agreed - whilst I’ve not had the opportunity to meet you Humphrey, it’s been humbling to watch the way you’ve handled yourself since having the fortune to win Red10, and to see all you’ve done to drive (excuse the pun) fundraising for the RAF BF. It’s hard to imagine a more fitting recipient of the car and opportunity you’ve had over the past year. Well done you. I look forward to meeting you at some event in the future.

Humph, thanks so much for gracing our event at Blenheim a week ago. To have 10 and 9 at Churchill’s birthplace was fabulous. You have been a credit to the Benevolent Fund and are a pleasure to meet. Thanks also go to Simon Lane, AM Cambridge for all his help and support.

Don't forget Beaulieu Humphrey - a real honour and pleasure to meet you and see Red10 close up.
Congratulations on your "stewardship" and whatever you move on to I wish you and Philippa the very best smile

Fabulous weekend at the Biggin Hill Airshow. Lots of very generous people donating to the RAF Benevolent Fund, we managed to take some really wonderful pictures & finally met the team! Great to meet Mark from the forum, hope the chap interested in an early V8V came to have a chat?

If anyone is interested in getting hold of a unique piece of memorabilia, we are auctioning a spare display plate that we had made for Le Mans. It's signed by all the pilots (Red 1 - 9) &, of course Red 10 himself. The signatures are grouped into their display formations, Enid (Left) & Gypo (Right). The link is here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202409133248 100% of the winning bid will be donated to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Great pics. Having followed this thread from the start it was great to see the car close up on Saturday - the pics do not do it justice and the attention to detail is phenomenal. Really good talking to Humphrey (every time I passed!!), an absolute gent. Maybe bump in to you at Travel Destinations in Le Mans sometime and good luck with whatever you get post Red 10.

What a great continuation to the story with so much done in the time Humphrey has owned it - it proves that there are some truly nice people who'll share their experiences and also continue the story with a potential significant further donation to the RAF Benevolent Fund. I hope the car goes to someone who'll continue to enjoy it and drive it as well as let plenty of petrol heads see it and understand it's significance (I also bought a ticket originally thumbup )

Sounds like an amazing day out to collect the cars! That being said it does look like all that extra activity has been built into the price.. a well specified S will come to £240k to £245k anyway, so another £30k for some helmets and race suits looks a little pricey. Still a unique car and I've bought some tickets! Still holding out for a Vanquish S Ultimate before I trade mine in!

Anyone on here ordered one of these yet? I imagine they're all sold out?
Just reread this and a few similar views at the start of this thread. So, Vanquish S Ultimate or Red Arrows? scratchchin

Sadly disappointed in Red 10. Wasn't able to get the private viewing due to extenuating circumstances, and then dear Humphrey went and one-upped me with an after dinner espresso twice the size of my own.

Red 1 was on site, though, so at least I was able to see the detail put into the Red Arrows cars.

Fabulous drinks reception and lunch at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall, London to celebrate Vanquish S Red Arrows Red1 going on display in the famous club rotunda for two weeks. Wonderful to have so many of the people involved in the project reunited.

I thought the number plates were sequential from AM01 to AM10?

There has never been a '01' suffix in the new style plates (2001 51 plate on) so AM01 RED not available. 12 seemed next most logical choice.

RAF Odiham Families Day, fantastic crowds & a ‘Mini Red 10’!

The Red 10 display plate signed by the Red Arrows raised £390 for the RAF Benevolent Fund! Laurie Stokes will receive the plate from Adam Collins (Red 10) on 8 September at Heroes at Highclere Castle, where the Red Arrows will perform at 1pm.
Thanks to everyone who supported the initiative on social media.
