Hi,

I've got a 2008 9-3 with the factory bluetooth fitting.

The car pairs fine with an iPhone 7, with the display and controls working as they do.

The problem is that I can't hear the person on the other end very well, in that they're breaking up. They can always hear me crystal clear, but not the other way. I've tried re-pairing, restarting, calling other numbers but can't find any change.

If during a poor quality call I change to a bluetooth headset, then they're clear on that (i.e. it's not cellular dropouts), but send the call back to the car and it breaks up again.

Having a Google and I can't find anything

Any ideas?

Thanks
Ben

I figure it might be a problem between difference bluetooth versions, but it's not that I'm expecting great things - you just can't hear!

I use mine with an iPhone 6 and it's clear both ways. Might be a microphone issue?

Callers can hear the person in the car

Person in the car can't hear the other person, regardless of telephone / call

Have you considered binning the standard stereo and replacing a with a modern Apple CarPlay set up? Would certainly give you more flexibility.

Thanks for that.

Hadn't considered it, but having had a look it appears a great option. With SatNav, reversing cameras, Apple Music.. and Siri - sounds just the ticket. smile

Only downside is it's a bit of a pricey option to just hear the person on the other end.

Hi, just spotted your post and interested to know if you solved it. I have exactly the same issue on a 2009 9-3.

Thanks!

Nope. And since then I sold the car (not because of lack of Bluetooth but summer was coming to an end! smile

Interestingly my Cayenne’s Bluetooth is causing difficulty. Not had a problem for the 10 years I’ve had the car.. until now. Porsche say it’s an Apple update that’s caused the problem and there’s nothing they can fix at their end.
