Sorry for brief hijack, I'm about to buy Conti 6's as the Michelins don't appear to be available in PS4S's for the front, just PS4's.. or am I missing something?

Make sure you put Michelins on the 19-inch wheels, not Bridgestones.

My summer wheels are V12V wheels so I use V12V size Michelin PS4S tyres which are available. I know there have been availability issues for other sizes. I'm also aware that the Conti's are very good tyres but may not last as long as the Michelins.

I fitted the Conti's last year as the PS4S's aren't available in the V8S wheel sizes. The Conti's are just as good as PS4S's (had them on my 911) but I do understand they wear a bit quicker, I've not noticed excessive wear though.

I decided to take the car for a spin yesterday, even though it was raining and pretty miserable all round.

She's currently on the factory 18s (a relatively rare wheel, actually), but I have some new wheels in the post. Having said that, I will make these the winter wheels. Thinking about anthracite...

Anywya, I headed out towards the French border, around the area of Vogtsburg.

Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl is a town in the Kaiserstuhl, a volcanic region in the district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, Baden-Württemberg. It has a population of about 5,700 and was created on January 1, 1975 through the unification of seven smaller villages.

Lots of nice roads around here, good for clearing out any cobwebs.

Plans for the rear? N400 diffuser, probably, and debating the clear lights (as with my old car). Though, these reds have grown on me. Stubby aerial is with my brother in Manchester, so I need him to send it over to me. Aside from that, little else to change cosmetically on the exterior...

Plans for the front of the car, include probably the black 6 slat grille, and I'll darken the vents as I did my last car. Not sure on the mesh grille on the original body.

they are a classic looking stunning car in original trim

I'm going to change the sills on my V12S to the original ones as I think they set off the rear arches so much better

nice car, nice area to be able to drive it

Agreed, I like the classic style of the original design which I think will age better than all the later versions.
(Subjective opinion, of course) argue

A 'small' modification: aerial upgrade done smile

Still to go:

1. number plate plinth removal
2. colour wheels to anthracite, change to snow tyres
3. audio upgrade (bluetooth minimum, CarPlay preferred)
4. power upgrade (BR full exhaust system)
5. clutch and flywheel (probably longer term mods)
6. Sport Pack wheels [for summer]
7. 6 bar grille, either normal or in black
8. possibly clear rear lights, as I had one my last one
9. retrofit bluetooth phone controls to steering wheel
10. change language (dash computer) to English (jetzt in Deutsch)

You have a good list of projects!

I did the same when I bought mine, still have some minor things. I baffles me that the language change is not doable by the user though, I changed from French to English too.

Thanks man. Yes, a bit silly how we need AMDS, but I will get it done at service.

I forgot N400 rear spolier.

If you're looking for your old grille I may be interested in selling for a good price - I have a carbon grille in mind.

Grille fitted, also have the carbon rear diffuser fitted, and got my nice winter wheels on some winter rubber. Annoyingly curbed a wheel (front right) when parking near a curb, the sound is horrific. But, these are the winters, so I'll just shrug it off for now. Should this have happened on the summer set (wait a few months for that reveal!) I'd have been slightly deflated.

As coronavirus, or COVID-19 if you’re fancy, sweeps the world, there’s little to do other than stay inside and refresh instagram. Or is there? You could panic buy toilet roll, perhaps. People seem to have a much faster metabolism than I do, or there are uses for toilet roll to which I am not yet accustomed. You could go on a cruise to escape, but there’s a chance that someone on-board has the disease and then your ship will need to be quarantined off the coast of some island until they decide to release everyone, like a new Sean of the Dead film.

We decided to go for a drive. The weather was absolutely beautiful on Sunday morning and the snow-covered hills of the Black Forest looked extremely majestic. It’s been the warmest winter since records began here in Germany, and it’s been rather mild, wet, and windy. There’s even blossom.

There have been some very cold days, and some snow, but just not the amount that’s generally expected this time of year. Being as my car sports a set of winter wheels, with basically new Pirelli Sotto‌ Zero tyres, it only feels fair to show it some cold.

The Black Forest is visible from every room in the apartment, even the bathroom, as it essentially completely surrounds the city. This makes for beautiful views in general, but also means that in the summer it’s a short sprint to some amazing driving roads for the motorbike. They’re great to drive a car on too, but since riding a bike i have less of a motivation to thrash around in a car.

After donning my “winter boots” we had a nice walk in the snow, then decided to hop into the car and cruise down the other side of the mountain. We had a light lunch, as we had a cheese fondue planned for the evening.

Pretty much a perfect Sunday.

Looks great! Wish I could take the N420 for a spin too, but here non-essential trips are forbidden so far. Do you think I can get a pass with "but mister agent, the Aston needed to stretch her legs too!" wink

Really wish this thing to end, and hopefully before the Concours d'Elegance in Como, would be cool to have some PH Aston owners all there. The event is so far on a "wait and see" approach.

Thanks! This was actually the Sunday before last. Although I went to get my TÜV yesterday and drove for an hour to celebrate passing. Driving around in my car isn't a problem really, I guess. Even though it's non essential.

Anyway, I would be up for a trip to Como. It's on my bucket list. Having said that, I am not going anywhere near north Italy until things calm down. Crazy right now, isn't it?! Sigh.

Take care, everyone.

Sigh!

...only the second day the borders are closed...many more to come...
I live just over the river Rhein in Switzerland, so the Blackforrest mountain roads used to be my natural "hunting ground" for the occasional escapism. I am missing it already...

Stay safe everyone!

Nice collection, you doing a Black Forest tourism gig in your spare time? wink
Yes, it`s good to get out on the roads currently. Where I live is a popular area for bikes and cars to pass while going for a weekend drive, but seems all the temporarily home-bound folk were taking advantage of today`s fine weather to do a corona cruise. I was pulling roofing off the house and while up there saw an endless procession of motorbikes, a collection of Mitsi Evo`s, old-timers, a Fezza, a Bentley, some US Muscle, two Jag`s, a Shelby Cobra and three 911`s go by. Wednesday is the new Sunday!
