As per the title. Do those with better knowledge of such things think that late, low mileage, excellent condition SP2's will continue to rise in value?

Personally I think they will only go a small percentage higher than they already are within the next 5 years. Good condition examples are exchanging for approx. £8K currently

..and I reckon they will continue to rise quite considerably, even ropey examples are fetching strong money now, only 1 of us can be right thou so itll be interesting to look up this thread in 5 years time and see what actually did happen.

Maybe really low low mileage ones will keep their value or go up a little.
I cannot see them going up much though, in particular ones that are actually being used.
Rare bikes, yes, and do sell to older collectors, but demand is not there really.
At least if I were buying one of these I would not think about where the value goes, life is too short, get it - ride it - enjoy it. It's a bike in the end, not some 250 GTO.

Not that I intend to sell but it's nice to see them going up in value but yes they will reach a ceiling soon I believe. You can advertise it for what you want but you'll only sell it for what someone's willing to pay.

I've got one just like that albeit with 4k miles MrB, hence interested in people's thoughts as it isn't getting used.

I think they will continue to a bit more but don't think they will get near the prices commanded for an RC30 or RC45, mainly because of numbers built, great bikes though still look good today.

Unless you need to sell for either cash or the space, try to hold onto it as they are not going to lose you any money. Which is a lot more than can be said for most of the modern and uninspiring stuff.

I've just paid 8K for an S6 with 8,000 miles on the clock. 1 owner.

Took me a while to find the right one.

Early Fireblades are the next Honda to shoot up in value, especially the earliest twin headlamp models in standard trim. I recon they've risen by around £1500 over the last 12 months, lots of press features have helped.

Doubt the SP2 will increase in value. Just because I've bought one.

Same with the R1 4XV. I bought one and prices haven't moved.

Still enjoy riding them though. Life's too short all my mates are looking for the next sure fire investment.

Yes, especially in the right colours (Edwards) and original.

It's already happening. Good clean bikes aren't cheap anymore.

When the new UJM superbikes are £20k+ for a top-of-the-range model (same as the SP2 was), homologation specials such as the SP2 will continue to get dragged up. I don't think I am biased as an owner, as the broader market seems to affirm this. The majority of SP2s are over 15-20k miles and they are the ones asking £8k+. Clean original sub-10k milers are rare and commanding even stronger money. The SP2 was and still is an exceptional machine that feels sublime in so many ways, despite power outputs that are modest by today's standards. The format of big thumping V-twin superbikes is soon to be history, especially with Ducati moving to a V4. The SP2 was purpose designed to win on Sunday, in the heydays of legends as Bayliss and Edwards, and those are times which will not be forgotten. None of the current bikes are as singular in purpose as the SP2, and as available to the public as the SP2 was. Special.

Yes absolutely. I fitted a new rear tyre onto friends SP2 the other day. That HRC swingarm is really a work of art. Very special bikes that are still under appreciated. The build quality is right up there.

My original plan was to buy a cosmetically rough, leggy SP1 and ride it. By accident (4 years ago) ended up with a mint 07 3k mile bike.

Thinking I should keep it and now go find the leggy one I originally wanted!
