Q2. What does it mean?

In relation to a GTV? is it a specific designation for all 3.0 V6s or is it some kind of special edition?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but all google and wikipedia throws up is to do with differentials!

Yup - the mechanical Q2 limited slip diff is a must;
it's really effective at cutting down understeer dramatically.
There's a later electronic version ( I don't know if it applies to the model you are considering)
but it's not nearly as good as the mechanical Q2 diff.

I'm familiar with the likes of an alfa 155 'Q4' but have not heard of a Q2 designation. is the diff mod a spare from a 'Q2' or does a 3.0 v6 gtv with this mod become a Q2?

It could also mean someone has put the Quaife ATB LSD diff in it, which is similar to Alfas own Q2 diff but ended up being a little cheaper and now more readily available, some alfistis still call this Q2. It doesnt just reduce understeer, it obviously reduces wheelspin incredibly. The standard Alfa diffs in the latter V6 engined cars had weak bevel gears.
