I have one of the common paint blisters on the bonnet of my V8V, and a small dent ( well more of an impression).

Any good recommendations for a bonnet respray in the area?

Do Broughtons have a recommended paint shop?

I answered my own question:

I was going to pop in there today, so will do that and get a quote.

Just wondering if there is an alternative not at Aston prices - although they surprised me with the recent service on cost

Might be worth trying Autoshop in Stroud, I belive they are AM approved an always seem to have a few Astons around whenever I've been there

I have a similar problem and want to find a good bodyshop near High Wycombe.
Would you please let me know how much your quote is for; we'll compare notes.

Just went to HR Owen and these guys were dropping off an aston. Turns out they do their work for them and are aston approved.

Met a nice guy from them and he's quoting me direct to save the handling fee - and actually I'm closer to them than HR Owen.

Expect the quote this afternoon.

Also enquired about an AMR clutch whilst there .... waiting for a delivery date

Why are my posts coming out in triplicate?
I'm not posting 3 times.

Ok, got the quote from Autoshop Stroud. £700 plus VAT for the dent removal, remove corrosion blister and respray. 2 days work.

Not too bad I thought from an approved centre with life time guarantee.

Booked in for mid-August.

£840 for a bonnet respray - no wings front valance etc? Watery paint materials - £50? Not sure on the value but then I haven't worked in a bodyshop since school summer holidays a good few decades ago!

I had a complete new tailgate on my BMW 2 years ago and that was £1500 at an approved BMW bodyshop (they added more scratches than they took away mind...)

Be interesting to get a handle on costs as mine is really peppered upfront (you know who you are madmadmad) and I have this on the rear door UNDER the lacquer so am gearing up... (what is it?)

If it was just a simple spray it would be cheaper, but the blister means they take the paint right back to bare metal for 1/3 of the panel, treat, under coat etc and then colour and top coat the whole thing.

IIf it was an old fiesta I would probably do it myself with a few cans! However, having the approved shop gives some comfort

Was your blister anything like my blemish - smooth and under the laquer?

No, the paint has actually bubbled up , except its aluminium so not actually rust, but similar.

Paint guy said it's probably a stone chip that moisture has go under and bubbled up. Maybe, or just poor prep originally.

Chiltern Aston are not too far away from HW, approved bodyshop/service dept, parts and sales all on the same site. They always have loads of newish and old Astons about, I would give them a go.
