Has anyone replaced the plastic switches with Glass ones, i am thinking about getting them and wondered how easy or hard they are to install on the Vantage V8

I can't tell you how it works on the Vantage, but I did it on my 2006 DB9 while I had the waterfall apart to install a Bluetooth module, refinish the wood, and wrap the plastic part. "After" on the left, "Before" on the right.
It was not hard, and I believe the job will be similar on the Vantage.
(The silly DB9 triangle on the top-left corner of the right-side airbag cover is hiding a spot where the leather shrank and pulled away...until I can get it properly repaired!).

I'm getting my main dealer to fit glass switches for me as part of my Aston purchase. Unfortunately according to my dealer Aston currently have "stock issues" with these and cannot let me know when they will be able to supply any.

I find strange that AM is not offering all the swiches in glass version,I am in the process of changing all the switches to glass on my TT DB9 but am not prepared to pay silly money for custom ones.4 swiches to modify and I will have the complete set.

does anyone have the steps on how to install. I would like to do it myself if it is relatively easy as the dealer charges a fortune.

this link tells you how to take the waterfall out and Redpants.lol has a video on how to take the centre console out then you can get to the bottom 4 ones

the other 3 i still have to do as i am told the 2 on the seats, you hit them inward with a socket then fish them out and replace but i am a bit unsure about doing it, the glove button is a bit awkward but doable i hope

hope this helps

Timely topic, as I have glass switches coming for my V12V as a Christmas present (to myself).

I haven't found anywhere online with pictures for a 2010 V12 vantage.

Specifically:
1) How does the high-line center console come off?
2) How does the V12 Power-Ranger-Leg gear lever come off? Push and twist as per the V8 or something different?
3) Do I have to take the "Waterfall" off, to remove the lower panel with the four buttons?

Many thanks

David

The process is basically the same as the V8 Vantage. The top panel around the nav screen pops out (it's a bunch of snap clips). Push down and rotate to remove the shift knob, installation in reverse. Lower console is a few screws.
