I wouldn't buy one, but Christ I hope they sell as many as possible & thrive! Britain really needs this type of manufacturing endeavour to be successful.

I was expecting to say, "Wow".

Such disappointment though.
When I saw the launch photograph, I said, "Mazda".

I hate to say it, but I actually prefer the look of the Mazda!

Can't they just put all the amazing new innards in Safaris body?!

I saw it at Goodwood yesterday and I think it looks nice (maybe apart from the nose looking too much like an MX5).
It's expensive but then the £90k is for the carbon launch edition - other material bodied versions will obviously be a bit cheaper.
Significantly smaller and lighter than other cars of its ilk which is important.
I had a Tuscan V6 and a 3000M many years ago and loved both of them - especially the Tuscan, much more robust and reliable than an Elan Sprint.
I think the new Griffith will carry on the spirit of those earlier cars and I wish them the very best of luck.
I can't afford £90k right now so may have to wait a year or two.

Yep I am disappointed too - after really wanting to like it. I'm an ex-Sagaris owner and now in a V12V .... for me though the beauty of TVRs peaked with the Mk1 Tuscan . The new car looks like the a Supra mangled into a 911 into a GT86. Just odd - and far too angular. Bet it goes like stink though.

I'm a little confused about the options

I know it's a top spec car (the LE car) with base cars costing substantially less, perhaps as little as 60k, but what I once read as being optional material body panels I've subsequently read as being not the case, but there is an option for the chassis to be built out of different materials

Did you learn anything more definitive yesterday ? It has to be said, they don't appear to be handling the launch very well - it's been a long gestation period, the photos released were abysmal, still plenty of customer confusion over future base price & options, 100 or more items still to be changed from the car shown yesterday which apparently didn't even have door handles yet - I do hope they haven't bitten off more than they can chew, especially as I agree the nose is somewhat unfortunate

Hi Nigel
Long time no see mate.
The "Boss" says I am banned from going anywhere near your cars as rides in them have cost too much money over the years LOL

Do look forward to seeing the new beast when it arrives.

well the Mazda (a great car) doesn't have a flat floor aero, a chassis designed by Gordon Murray, nor a power to weight of 400 BHP/tonne... nor a 5.0l bombproof Ford V8 lightly fettled by Cosworth..
(agree, Red was a rubbish colour for the launch)

Car magazine have a good article.. nothing is more cynical than a motoring journalist and British sports cars, or a brand that had stopped making cars. Yet it is the most positive article ever. This car, is going to match the performance of various lower end Mclarens, and be 60k cheaper.. Autocar, evo, Car, etc journalists seem genuinely excited/positive, and they have had a lot more access to the manufacturing process and Gordon Murray

side exhausts alone make it more fun.. One factor that needs appreciating is how compact it is, which to me is a positive factor. shorter than a 911

(I've had a deposit since July 2015..)
