Paul,

As you made no response to my suggestive and genuine post earlier in the thread I wondered how you were getting on from the AMOC direction.

Especially as you mentioned the chairperson elect Mr Tim Butcher and that maybe there was a chance of getting some older cars into the mix which would clearly help fill a few more spaces and help reduce the costs.

I'd be a very interested spectator as I live just 35 minutes down the road from the venue if allowed of course, especially if some of the older models were strutting their stuff alongside the modern cars……...ears
Hi Ed,

Thank you and sorry I didn't respond... Wasn't being rude. Just juggling this with an exceptionally busy work schedule... I have spoken to Anne at the AMOC who said she was going to post it on the AMOC website/forum, but I haven't contacted the local dealership as you suggested.. I know Know Weybridge have been messaging existing customers but as yet nothing from ether of those 2 avenues.

Definitely come along to watch........ Every one will be welcome.... thumbup
Morning Paul,

Thanks for your reply,I more than most know of the frustrations of trying to put an event together so I do hope everything comes together for you and
I wish you well rounding up the few cats that are still eluding you.

I also hope that the AMOC pull their finger out and actually prove to be helpful regarding your event especially in knowing that you have spoken with Anne who has great knowledge and contacts to assist with this type of venture as it would be really great to have some old stuff giving it large.

However I would tell you not to hold your breathe regarding their support,I got tangled up with both the said Chairperson's elect regarding my last big event and wished I hadn't bothered with them in the first place……..but hey ho you live and learn as they say.

John McGurk is still a very good contact still should you struggle to fill those few empty spaces should you choose to go for your preferred numbers to hit
your target price structure.

All the very best and well done for putting yourself out for the enjoyment of others……...clap

I'm certainly going to try and get my card stamped for a day out watching all the antics at Rockingham.

Hi Ed. If you're coming along why not bring your Aston or are you not a proud owner anymore? yikes

Pete,

Ask Ed if perhaps a Land Rover might be involved.

Morning Pete,

Have you taken up fishing……...biglaugh

I did indeed moved camp back in 2016 and since then have tried various alternatives whilst watching and patiently waiting for the 2nd century cars to prove there reliability and build quality after experiencing just one to many issues with my last Aston.

That said my passion for the brand remains firmly in place whilst playing with the field of competition,as Jon eludes I'm currently chilling with my latest RRS SVR which to be honest covers all the bases I currently wish to cover.

I must be getting old as I've started going for more comfort over the lower and harder ride of the true sports car………but then again I might just have turned into a whimp…….rolleyes

I haven't run my usual plethora of meets and events since Burghley as I've had a few of life's less pleasing bits and pieces to deal with whilst also finding myself under the cosh as our two daughters have both decided to get married…..yikes and when the W word is mentioned it turns into a total piss take with the prices of everything..yikesyikesyikescensored

I'm going to try and attend Rockingham just to see what I'm missing and you never know it might reignite and fan the flames for an urgent purchase….scratchchin

It will be good to catch up with a few of the faces I know from the entry list so I'll be looking forward to seeing you there on the day, well thats if her indoors lets me out to play.

Hope to see you there……..thumbup

Hi Ed,

I have just emailed John Mcgurk..... Thanks for that.... You know what its a shame if AMOC didn't help or get involved, as I know that Tim is running for the new position he is wanting to do more of this type of thing for members.. He was going to partner up with me organising this one but as other things came up he was just too busy at that time...

Two things:

Insurance: Just spoken to Lockton, and my policy is only guaranteed to cover AMOC track day events. Waiting for a call back as to what they can offer for this one.

Tyres (again). Has anyone actually booked a mobile tyre fitter?. Currently thinking that I will get the rear Corsas changed beforehand but if anyone has already booked a fitter that would be another option.

Hi, I have just read my policy with Locktons and it doesn't mention AMOC specific Track Days. Just mentions Track Day use. I'll contact them and check. Let you know what the say.

I'll stump up to the £400 mark Paul - and take some pics and vids for free to save my tyres smile. That's just £33 per lap as I just want to have a play - not wear anything out or set a new 5m long, 5 door family hatchback track record wink

Hope AMOC can help you too mate - plenty of great guys in the membership & good to promote something of variety for the members given the £750k+ subs they submit pa!

Ed, you must come mate - that red farm vehicle you have is lovely but the red boneshaker was nicer . There are Astons available that aren't boneshakers you know...

Hi Paul

Sorry, been off the grid for a while and just catching up in an airport with the last couple of weeks progress.

Happy to pay the extra to make the day work. As soon as you’ve got a final number let me know and I’ll pay any surcharge needed.

Well done for all your efforts.

Will be good to catch up there Ed.

So are you thinking DB11 or New Vantage? Or new DBS perhaps?

Morning Pete,

I'm not sure,I may need some brain washing…….wobble

I'm going to try to come along to Rockingham so don't forget to bring me some of those little blue tablets out of your bottom draw
there's a good chap,as they say at Asda "every little helps".

I did have a bit of a thing going for the slightly "out there" in Yellow V12S at Amari but the consensus was it was a bit over priced.

We'll have to see what the future brings, some poor unsuspecting dealer will no doubt take pity on me somewhere, sometime down the line.

I've tracked my car a number of times with Corsas, not quite sure why you'd want change them though?
They transform when hot and sticky!
And if anything it's the fronts that will take a battering...

Insurance: Had a couple more calls with Locktons, who initially were insisting "only AMOC trackdays". Then, following a tip above, I actually read my policy. AMOC not mentioned, and yes I am covered.

Talked to Lockons again, who this time agreed.

Happy days.

Why change the Corsas? Because their shot! Putting new Corsas on. I know they are very compromised / hilarious in the cold and wet (recent experience shows a Diesel Peugeot minicab will out accelerate a V12V on end-of-life-ish Coarsas) but its a fun toy for me, so can wait for the sun!

It would be a bit disingenuous for Locktons to advertise track day cover if it was only for AMOC ones; given they appear as often as Halley’s Comet smile

Slight concern that people are getting worried about having/not having trackday cover.... are you thinking theres likely going to be a smash? You would have to be way out of your comfort zone to get things very very very wrong to end up off the track or into somebody.

Hi burnout and all on this thread

I met Dal65 today at Bedford Autodrome who let me know about the Aston Rockingham day you are organising. I’m new to Aston but not new to Rockingham. I would love to come and am happy to financially commit to the day.
I’m AlpinaChris Chris Fox V12VSM.
How do I pay???
