Is Sunday 22. April 100% now? Just so i can start looking for accommodation nearby smile

BTW the wife/girlfriend only lunchtime session sounds interesting, my other half is refusing to drive the Vantage (not that I'm complaining...) but it would be a nice way to appreciate she is dealing with my mad (and expensive) hobby biggrin
Hi Charlie,

Hampton by Hilton may be a popular choice smile

Now on the wife/girlfriend thing I've had similar issues when saying maybe she will be able to punt her round at her own pace with the other ladies (if that happens)... She said ' no thanks - will be like driving a lorry 'round compared to mine'. Haven't spoken to her since!!!!

LOL Once she sees everyone else's Mrs going round she will have a go.... Mine cant wait, I have insured her on it now so she can start to get a feel for it as her usual drive is an auto and hasn't driven a manual for 4 years.

I'm booking hotel now, might even stay the Sunday night as well... Be nice to chill out have some dinner and drinks after a flat out day..

Good Afternoon Drivers.... biggrin

So at present we have 42 names down for the day, I WILL NEED ALL THE MONEY IN BY 28th of FEB as I will have to pay Rockingham in March, so as it stands with this number the total cost per CAR will be £270-00 which includes the photographer.

If we reach the full 45 it will work out at £254-00 Per CAR.

Payment by bank transfer using your forum name as payment reference and then email confirmation to info@powerpest.co.uk stating;

1, Your place number on the list.
2, Your forum name.
3, Full name & car model.

Once you have emailed me that you are committed to the day I will email back bank details.

Now obviously I am organising the event, If we end up with less than these numbers we will ALL have to make up the difference, as I'm no millionaire I don't want to have to pay any short fall as I imagine you would all agree would not be fair.

All money will be non refundable....unless that slot can be filled by another person in which you "the"person dropping out should obtain the fee from a new driver.....

I have also had confirmation today that David Appleby Engineering will be donating their time for the whole day along with a few pit crew to assist us all day FREE OF CHARGE, this will be to help out with minor bits like advice, wheel changing, tyre pressures and more etc... Not sure if you're all aware but they run cars in the British GT, so in great hands..... www.davidapplebyengineering.com

They have also offered us at a fee of £300-00 Matt George British GT driver for some additional instruction and one on one tuition.
I would imagine we need to limit him to maybe 10 people realistically. www.racing.gt/2016/06/introducing-matt-george

I might (still waiting to hear) have bagged a Vulcan to be there for the day, not for any of us to drive sadly but would be great to see that out there as well.

There are still 3 places left so if your interested get your name down... This is only 13 weeks away.....

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we really appreciate your efforts organising this.

You're dealing with 40+ people here. While I hope I'm wrong, knowing life there is a good chance you will be given the mess around by a few people, which will mean loads of chasing of 'top up' amounts from everyone else... an administrative headache!

As such, I personally wouldn't mind paying £299 to give you a bit of a buffer if the inevitable happens. And, if everyone does pay up, you've got something leftover as a thank you from us for the time and effort you have invested. Keep, put on some food, give to charity... your choice.

Just a thought.

Hi burntout, thanks for your efforts organising this event.

I may have missed the post on this somewhere but what is the format going to be for the day? How many/what groups, number and length of sessions etc. I would like to know before committing £300.

Thanks in advance.

Petrolburners....

LOL I know this is going to be somewhat of a challenge to say the least and I appreciate the offer from you and DAL65 to pay more initially, plus makes perfect sense.

If everyone to start off with is happy to do this that would be great, I would though if we reach the designated number refund back the difference on the day in cash, this would make my life easier... So the cut off date for entries will have to be 28th of Feb, otherwise I will be collecting cash on the day which isn't how id like to do it...

Lets see how this all goes.

I will ask about food options on the day as I hadn't given that any thought.

This will be one epic day.. biggrin

Soofsayer, if we get the full 45 cars we could start off with 15 cars a session of 20 minutes and then see how it goes after that, like I said before driving at speed, add adrenalin I imagine most will be ready to pull in after 15 minutes.

I have done so many open pit lane days when I was racing and there would be lots of cars out at any one time, but it all gets spaced out and traffic isn't an issue...

The day will be run with guidance from the circuit throughout the day as well. Plenty of track time for everyone..

£300 sounds like a good idea and I for one have transferred that to Burntout this evening.

Fantastic effort by burntout organising what I’m sure will be an amazing day.

As much as I hate doing this now after signing up for this great fun so long ago I will have to pull myself out. Friday meeting at work revealed we are closing our showroom in 6 months time as we are not extending the lease on the premises. We will have another meeting in 3 months time when we will find out if the business moves to another location, or we are finished in july and losing our jobs.

This will make me very busy as I’m looking after the operations, hopefully with relocation rather then looking for a new job, but either way I will have to be a bit more careful with my finances till things settle down a bit...

Sorry again guys, I go and have a cry now ...

UPDATE

OK so I have just had a confirmation call from HWM Aston Martin (Weybridge)

They will be joining us for the day and bringing 2 cars along with 2 pro drivers for us all to enjoy and have a play in biggrin

Unfortunately no new Vantage as they wont have taken delivery of one by then, but will be bringing a DB11V8 and a Rapide.

Just another add on to make the day a bit more eventful.....

I have already had payments from some of you, so thank you so far..... This is shaping up to be one hell of a day... biggrin

Hello all from the bar in the Hilton Garden Hotel Glasgow!

I’m up here flogging my wares at an exhibition and just logged into this forum for the first time in a fortnight.
Paul (Burntout) I shall be emailing you my required details to you as soon as I’m back in the office Thurs/Friday and shall pay you the £300 immediately.

I still haven’t mentioned this fine day out to my wife, better do soon as we will have to arrange palming off our three children to friends / grandparents too!
I’ll have a look at the aforementioned Hilton hotel for the Saturday night, but might blag a room at Rockingham Castle as they are customers!! Doubt that will be happening, but there goes my four pints of ale optimistic thought tank!

Anyway, just thought I’d check in. Georgie and I are coming along, I, for one, am just very excited to be finally able to press the Sport button! Can you believe I have never touched it!?

Right, beer run out, to the bar! Cheers chaps!

Sorry, forgot to say a huge thank you to Paul (Burntout) for, so far, organising what sounds is going to be a legendary day! With maybe a guest appearance from a Vulcan and some pro instructors, who I would love to have a lap or two with!

Plus, can I acknowledge the previous poster who is dealing with potential job losses. I wish you all the very best and hope things work out well for you!

Cheers!

Glad to see plenty of interest in the day....

If this all goes according to plan with a good turn out I may do this annually, After my chat with HWM Weybridge today showing interest and the much appreciated time from DAE on the day who knows who else we could attract along to the next event??

biggrin

Ahoy there, those in the know!

As my Swiss insurance company wont touch a track day I have gone to an independent and I have had a quote of 330 quid for one day, how does that sound?
