Guys, I’m not going to mince my words here

This is turning into a disgrace. You’ve all signed up saying “yes we’d love Paul (Burntout) to organise a track day for us”.

The man has committed time and money to it

And then when push comes to shove you all leave him in the lurch with a simple “sorry can’t make it”

We’ve had this before on this forum, which is why organising track days died down. Don’t be surprised if one never gets organised again

As I said it’s a disgrace

Thanks for the support guys and your right it would be a real shame if this becomes a real trend where people say they will go and then don't... But I suppose I knew that there would always be a number of people who have to drop out for various reasons.

I just hope that we can hit the 30 cars, this would mean that all those who have already paid the £300 will only need to cough up an extra £50.

There is still the Photographer to take into account as well who said he would charge £20-00 per car, which I think is reasonable....

So again if you haven't already paid then please get on it ASAP......

I have been in touch with Paul and will be paying up in the next day or so. It would be a shame if numbers dwindle to the point its uneconomic by the end of this month. We all take care of our cars so it will be a lot safer than some commercial days I am sure.

Very well put...BUT... Having supported Bob’s previous track days I really find it quite ironic. IIRC there was quite a few posts at the time about people deciding that they couldn’t / wouldn’t turn up and felt they didn’t need to pay in the FULL commitment after he proceeded to book/pay/commit in all good faith. POT.....KETTLE.....BLACK maybe ?

Your memory is letting you down. So I've posted the thread on Bobs Snetterton Track Day. Knock yourself out trying to find me signing up for it, because I didn't as I knew I couldn't make it (would love to have gone, it looked fantastic). And if I had done and then dropped out I would have, of course, compensated those that did go.

I'm not going to take offence as I don't know you Tony and you clearly don't know me (or you would know I would not let someone down if I had committed to something).

But in the words of the great Tony Hall, I will say one thing "tosser!" smile

Opps sorry. Maybe I didn’t make it quite clear. NOT aimed at you in the slightest Rob and certainly didn’t mean to offend you or tar you with the same brush as others. I agree with your comments totally. The point I was making more more about an organiser getting their fingers burnt trying to put on event for the benefit of others.

This will be a great day because;

We will all be driving expensive cars we love; it’ll be safest day you’ll attend
I’ll get to know my car better, safely, without concerning plod or a nervous other half
We can blow those winter cobwebs away
Rockingham looks a great circuit, not sure how many anti-clockwise ones in the UK?
Can you imagine the howl off the banking?
Comraderie with like-minded Aston drivers
See/hear a load of cars modded, standard, 8’s and 12’s, being driven how they were intended
The sight, sound and smell of many hot Astons... epic.
Make some new mates, meet some old ones
Paul’s organising some cool stuff too.

I’m looking forward to having a laugh, enjoying some serious track time and a thoroughly social day. It really is time to pay your share only a BACS away, such a shame if this is pulled, both for those of us who are keen and committed and also coz there won’t be another one organised for a while. It’s a lot of effort, and I’m really grateful to Paul for sticking his hand up and grafting, let’s make it happen.
