The interior colour shown is nothing like my initial thought when I read 'blue'; that looks fine to me. I think it makes a change from the usual colours but I would need to see it in normal lighting, not on a screen.

I can't see it being a potential resale risk, certainly nothing like, for example, purple with orange inserts, so just go with your own preferences - if you like it, that's what matters.

It's red but not as red as my new DBS smile
It'll grow on you that's for sure. I've already made plans for mine though and will be ripping it out as soon as my UK DBS has sold.

Re colour.

I followed a vantage a few days ago down the M1. I believe the colour was Ocellus Teal. I could not stop looking at the thing, it looked absolulely stunning. Certainly beats the all to common grey.

My only thoughts are do YOU like it?

Predictably I'll have to throw the Rapide in to the mix as you mentioned seats for the kids. We go to lots of stuff as a family and this ability was key for us. No way do I want to take the Diesel DD for our weekends away and continental jaunts etc! Again its what YOU want that is the key - a stiff lighter Vantage for blatting about with constant stick stirring or a more relaxed cruiser that will still not be many metres behind the lighter smaller cars when you do go out for a blast with some mates... Define your priority and the solution will become clearer smile

Definitely try all sources for the car and pick the best one at the best price/package - be that Indies or MD's.

Do it right NOW - life is short cool Pob lwc!

Da iawn Ken Figenus!!
Thanks again for the advice- have discounted the Rapide- lovely car, but the depreciation would kill me and it’s a bit out of my range at the mo!

Found a great 2009 plate 4.7 from main dealer, well specced, manual, sports pack and premium audio and few other bits. Lovely car, trying to do a deal!

Taking off the 5k margin from the dealer, I know it’s crystal ball gazing but what do we all reckon it will drop in resale a year- doing 6-8 k per annum, only 32k on it at present. Intend to maintain full AMSH. I know no one knows about the future, but rough estimates would be great! How can you compare resale values of 4.3 vs 4.7’s
Thanks all

Also- any recommendations on insurance. Cheapest quote I’ve had so far is 1350! I’m 41 with 14 yrs no claims, with a Cheshire postcode. Seems high to me!!
Anyone needed trackers fitted?
Thanks!

Regarding values, they have been very stable for some time. My first V8V (an early 4.7 Sportspack) has just sold for £4K less than I bought it for over 4 years ago. The car you have found also looks to be a lovely example and very well priced so I wouldn't hang around too long .......

I think you can do better than that with insurance. My renewal with Aviva just came through at £600 which was £100 more than last year so I shopped around and got a quote from NFU Mutual for £390! I am 49 with 10 years NCD so that gives you something to aim for. Aviva only wanted a tracker if value was over about £75K. For me it is pointless if it's not a requirement of the policy. You paying another £250 to insure them against a total loss - WTF?

Thanks V8VPete.
Out of interest how many miles did you add to yours?
I thought that about tracker- why indemnify someone else!! You in a more ‘rural’ area? That’s a really cheap price!!...

It had 15000 on when I bought it and it has 28000 now. I did 12000 of those miles in the 2 years I had it and the next owner did 1000 miles in 2 years - shame on him/her!

I am in a large village (5000 inhabitants) in Derbyshire. That's for 8000 miles per year. Definitely give NFU and Aviva a call.

There is less space in the back of the DB9 than there was in my 996 Turbo. I could get my Porsche child seat in the back of a DB9 when my daughter was 2/3 years old but not at all after that. So I would view the DB9 as a two seater with some useful storage behind the seats rather than a 2+2 seater.

I went for the DB9 as I personally preferred it to the V8, others will have done the exact opposite to me. It is the same with colour combos.

As has been said, go for the car that feels right for you in the colour combo you like. Which ever model you go for it is impossible to regret buying an Aston!

Also, do enjoy the hunt for your perfect car, see lots and wait for the right one to come along before you commit. You will just 'know' when this happens and everything feels right!
