Wheel Spacers On DB9
Discussion
Hey all.
In April when I service my 07 DB9 I am fitting H&R springs and looking at doing H&R wheel spacers to fill out the arch's with the OEM 15 spoke wheels.
My original idea was 11mm all around but my H&R trade book says the best scenario is 11mm fronts and 23mm rears.
Has any one done this on there DB9? If so have you got a pic you could kindly share?
Thanks

just be careful with the 23mm ones
they either require new longer studs fitted to the car (a pain) or are bolt on with integral studs that you then bolt the wheel to
this is ok provided the original studs do not foul on the inside of your wheel (some have deeper recesses than others - dont ask me how I know....)
check first because either changing out studs to fit longer ones or to fit shorter ones to avoid fouling the wheels is a real drama
with the 11mm on the front you can just get different lug nuts (H&R sell them) which have a thread all the way to the end of the nut and this will accommodate the 11mm difference & still give you enough turns of the nut to ensure a proper fit

Hi Graeme,
Thank for the reply.
The 11mm ones come with the new wheel nuts as they are a special design like you said.
The 23mm are DRM will require me to cut the original stud shorter and come with the fastening nuts with studs in the spacer.
I work for a tuning company so all this easy an easy job in the workshop, but thanks for the heads up

Hi
I fitted the H&R 12mm spacer kit to my old 07 vantage and they made the car look great.
I then read that you could put the 23mm kit on the back and so bought some after a lot of faff fitting them I actually thought they looked too much and took them off.
Move forward a year and I bought a new 2010 vantage and ordered a new set which to my surprise and delight came with black nuts which looked great with my black sports pack wheels.
Having spoken to Adrian at BR he only recommends the 12mm kit with nuts as they are a better option from an engineering fit especially when you think how much power goes through the rear wheels when we give our cars the beans!
I hope this helps I bought mine from a supplier in Germany on ebay great service and quick delivery.
Regards Mark

Thanks for that Mark.
We measured the space I have to play with on my 07 DB9 on stock 15 spoke wheels and the 11mm fronts will be spot on.
As for the rear the 23's would be the best option I think to suit the wide arches.
By fitting these sizes it will still give a few mm spare.
We measured it using a spit level and ruler.
