And then there were four!

Well it's 6 to be fair, 2 roadsters too, but it is low for this time of year. I guess in part it's down tot he fact that they are all becoming old cars now, the newest ones are 4 years old, so there will inevitably be less around.
Also now they are all beyond that 3yr old (i.e. MOT) age people who buy new cars and chop them in are out of the cycle, so they are more likely to fall into the hands of long term keepers.

The V12 Vantage is recognised an excellent example of its type.
It is therefore not surprising that they are quickly sold when available.
I note that several are available at £75/90K so if a person wanted an "old school" V12 it's relatively good value.
The alternative being a model from the new range which costs circa £150K.

So that's the dealer network down to just having the 4 black V12V's in stock. What are the thoughts on this number going even lower before spring?
If you are going by the aston used website then it doesnt include the red v12v they have in stock at Leeds at around £80k. Very nice it is too.Jon39 said:
When this occurred before, when I think it eventually went to zero cars, it was at Christmas time a couple of years ago.
What is it about winter car sales? Thought trade slowed at this time of the year.

Why is the focus on the number of cars available at main dealers? If you look at Autotrader there are around 15 available and I guess more will be available outside the main dealer network and as specialist dealers see the value in them.
Hi Ian, I think mainly as it’s a quick visual guide as to what’s happening in the official network and a constant comparison over previous years. Plus previously that’s how 98% of these cars were sold!It may well be, as has been said, these cars leave the dealer network and are only sold by independents. I have also seen many times last year private or independent sales of these cars end up at MD purely because that’s where there is the most confidence to buy.

Appreciate what you are saying Phil but do not recall that many cars being sold through independents last year as we are seeing now. I think what Adam says the cars being that much older now has an influence on where they are sold as well. Yes i agree , just looked on AT and was surprised.
11 at independents/private plus the 4 MD cars. I guess the tide is turning. Will still be interesting how much these cars will be advertised for at MD when their supply dries up and just an odd one or two trickle through. As said recently, I really think 2018 will be a defining year for future original V12V values. Can’t wait!
I really wish they weren't becoming collectable.
I have bought a succession of decent cars in the recent years to actually use and not be too fussed about but they end up in storage. I'm getting too old not to be enjoying a decent car as a daily but I find it difficult to ignore when they start creeping up in value.
I refuse to put this one in cotton wool too.

I have a friend who bought a low mileage, 35k miles, 1989F Porsche 3.2 Carrera around 12 years ago for £20k. He’s stopped using it now at around 52k miles, has it insured for £65k and darent take it out or leave it anywhere!I have bought a succession of decent cars in the recent years to actually use and not be too fussed about but they end up in storage.
