At the risk of sounding pedantic, Scotland is a big place. Any clues to area? I do Scotland a lot but it would be useful to narrow down the detail smile

Lol it’s more guided by the hotels but probably from Edinburgh up to Inverness and then back down !
East coast to Inverness then back down the west side

Go up the west coast, and back down the west coast. Not much worth seeing on the east

I’ve done up the West to Fort William then Invergarry, couple of hotels there, then to a Kyle of Lochalsh and onto Skye. Ferry across to Mallaig and back to FW. Possible Ben Nevis hill climb thrown in. Utterly superb roads and views.

You should do the NC 500?

I’m hoping to do that in July.

Thanks for the comments guys last year I did turnberry up the side of Loch Lomond to Inverness and then down to Edinburgh via balmoral old military road which was 3 night away and 1/2 day of driving home at each end , the nc500 is too far for a short trip like this so just wanted some recommendations of good hotels and car parks in this area but doing it the other way around to see what I saw in the rear view mirror the last time smile

Hi, did the same route 3/4 years ago on a motorbike.

Turnberry - nothing better in that part of the world.

Inverness - kingsmills hotel - ok for what it is, not luxury but a step up from travel lodge (not that thers anything wrong with them either) carpark right outside so you would be fine.

Edinburgh - Balmoral Hotel. Superb. They have valet parking in a secure underground carpark nearby.

Spent a few days last year in Andy Murray's hotel 'Cromlix' - I believe they may have hosted an AMOC run previously and the parking is perfect as is everything about the hotel. Would be a good pit stop if touring. Took the car for a run around the Trossachs one day which tests the car somewhat (pic as below)

Can't help with hotels, loads of good accommodation - Tripadvisor is best.

As far as a route is concerned, I'd head up the west coast and then from Inverness head to Blairgowrie and south.
Best roads in Scotland - don't tell anyone!!!! driving
