Timed auction by the DVLA .

Thought it would look canny on my N430

Bidding stood at £11k plus the additional fees makes it over £14 k .

Now sold at that price.

K’nell man.

Amazing how much people will pay for a plate, especially seeing as there is a badge on the back saying pretty much the same thing smile

V847 AMV went for £280 plus fees, pretty good value IMO.

Get something sorted then , preferably a nice sunny day rather than timing your runs out in torrential rain as usual.

I don’t think the jacket is waterproof.....

V8 VAN sold at the Works Bonhams auction last year for £4750, so including the premium it came in at under six grand...........for what is arguably a better plate imho.

AMV V8 then yes.........but over fourteen grand for AMV 8V......no thanks.

VMA 8V would make more sense. At least it would look right in the mirror.

I don’t get it. Maybe re-position the letter V so it reads AM V8V but that looks a bit naff.
Here are the other top priced plates from the auction.

Are the fees really 27%? Seems steep.

Many years ago I bought a two alpha, three numerals plate for £10.
As a warning to you all, never let the vehicle with the plate become unroadworthy. The registration mark cannot be transferred.
The car restoration is at last almost complete, but the Gods must be pleased with my efforts, because an MoT is no longer required after May 2018. Yippee. It might be worth more than AMV 8V, but I won't be selling.

Did you know that it was Mrs Thatcher who originally instigated the DVLA sales, to raise extra tax revenue? Buyers still seem very happy to pay, and for a product which has no cost to the seller. A brilliant business model.

Why is 110 DEF worth £13,560 ?
Have I missed a hidden meaning ?

I don't get the 110 DEF either ?

But then I don't get most plates. I often assume the driver must just have an unusual surname.

Hello, we are selling our N430 roadster meaning we no longer need the plate for it! We are selling “N430 AMV” for £3,000 if you’re interested!

Reminds me of a great Viz top tip

"Use Interpol to change your surname to match your car numberplate. Hey presto, a personalised plate at a fraction of the cost"

Great plate and car - think I saw it at Silverstone last year for British GT? races
