Loyalty to the marque greatly impresses me.
It does seem to be fairly common, amongst AM PHers.

Many contributors here have described buying their first Aston Martin, then subsequently some talk about changing to a second, third (and even more) Aston Martin models. Some owners even retain the original car, and just add to their Aston Martin collection. How wonderful.

Going from a V8 Vantage on to a V12 Vantage, is perhaps one of the most popular moves.

Steven (avinalarf) has owned a Newport Pagnell car, and now has a Gaydon model.
Do many of you have ownership connections with more than one factory. I expect the driving experience must be very different between old and new. Would you like to describe?

Please tell us your AM serial ownership stories.

Hmm, it starts to look expensive when you make lists

2009MY DB9 - in midnight blue. I bought it because my wife was working weekends for the NHS (yes Mr Hunt, doctors do that!) and I was driving three small kids around in a battered Renault Espace. And suddenly I thought "we would fit in a DB9, I should make the most of this".

1964 DB5. From one end of the spectrum to the other. Probably the most beautiful car I've owned to look at. The little design touchs are amazing. Not great to drive, not bad, but not great; you forget how far cars have come in 50 years (brakes especially, don't ever do an emergency stop in a modern car while in front of a classic). And what no DB5 owner will tell you is that there's very little to shield you from the heat from the engine (why so many have air con secretly installed, but I wanted to keep mine original). But I still miss it.

2015 Rapide S. This essentially replaced the DB9. Kids had got too big, but even adults can fit nicely in the back of the Rapide. It's a reasonably practical car, very fast in a straight line. Avoid multi-story car parks though! Only sold it as I had a new car incoming

GT8. It's a keeper, end of. Having been able to spec it to my individual tastes it feels much more "mine"than any of the others (the DB5 never felt mine, I was always just privileged to be able to look after it for a few years before passing it on to the next curator). It's loud, the handling is by far and away the best of any car I've owned since my Caterham. It feels special

V12VSM AMR Roadster. I think i can get a decent scrabble score out of that. I'm in two minds on it. As it's in halo colours it feels less "mine". So I'm jealous of the three AMRigos who have been able to spec there's as they have. It's a fabulous car though, the engine is sublime, the halo details are lovely. Not in the same league handling wise as the GT8 but a lot of fun. I may not keep it though as I already have the deposit down on the next one.....smile

I've been lucky enough to have enjoyed 5 new ones on the trot.

V8 Vantage Coupe in Torro Red.

V8 Vantage S Roadster in Meteorite Silver.

V12 Vantage Coupe in Lightning Silver.

V12 Vantage S Roadster in Volcano Red.

DB9.2 Coupe in Skyfall Silver.

Did I have a favourite…..?,well looking back probably the original 2010 V12 Vantage Coupe.

Currently taking a sabbatical from the brand whilst remaining thoroughly enthusiastic and watching the 2nd century cars with a careful eye.

Currently awaiting delivery of my 3rd new Range Rover Sport SVR…….complete with the revised 575 bhp and 700 newton metres of torque yikes

2007 V8 Vantage that I bought several years ago
2007 V8 Vantage that I bought a year ago
Still own and actively use both.

I honestly have no experience with the older models, which I'm really bummed about and want to change, if anyone's willing to help a young fellow out wink

Bought my first Aston a DB9 at launch in Nov 2004. Tungsten with bitter chocolate. Brilliant car. Kept it until the launch of the V12Vantage in 2009. Bought a concours restored DB4 LHD with upgraded 4.7L engine from RS Williams in 2009. I will never sell this car. Sold the V12V for no apparent reason and still looking for another one. Found the first ever RHD V8 Vantage Fliptail, AML demonstrator and have just completed a 2.5y body off restauration at RS Williams. Ready in the next couple of weeks. Want another modern Aston but don’t really know which.

Only 2 for me, a ex demo early 2006 Vantage early in 2007, which gave 83k miles of pleasure over the next 11 years, then changed to a MY2012.25 Roadster in 2017 which ive put another 20k miles on so far. I like to drive them as much as possible, when the weather is good smile

I do have a Range Rover sport as daily driver for another 15k miles a year, and no intention to change the fun car for anything else other than a V12 Vantage Roadster ...

V8 Vantage then Virage then Vanquish.

3 in 3 years, I think the dealers know when my bonus turns up.

I stick with the Vs to save me changing my cheap number plate.

2013 V8VS ex demo Specced by me in Tungsten. Swapped for 2014 V12VS ex demo specced by HWM in Ferrari Nero Daytona - not seen or heard of another Aston in this colour. Keeper.
V8VS fine car, but V12VS is another level.

Loving the ownership experience. Not tempted by new Vantage or DB11. Not interested in DBX.

Mid engine super car will get my attention.

Always dreamt of a DB5. Was offered one for GBP72k about 20 years ago, but that was more than my net worth back then, so had to stick with my battered VW Scirocco.

Just bought a lovely tuned Alfa Guilia GT Junior for my classic car kicks. Hope to always own an Aston.

Hi Paul,

Your in for a treat if this is your first SVR.

I'm not currently on RRSPORT.CO.UK but I'll have a look later for sure,is there a particular thread to look into…….

What colour did you go for, mine's "as usual" for me Firenze Red with the CF interior package.

Not meaning to derail the AM thread btw……..biggrin

I’m on my second... from 2004 DB9 in Tungsten to 2012 DBS TT in Quantum. I quite fancy the new DBS/ Vanquish as #3 if it lives up to expectations.

Three for me, and sadly I can only afford to keep one at a time at the moment cry

2009 V8V Roadster SS1 - Morning Frost White with Sport pack
2014 SP10 Coupe Manual
2013 V12V - Morning Frost

When money permits I think the next one on the list will either be a DB11 V8V or more likely a Vanquish Volante.......but I'm hoping to keep the V12 this time too.
