Hey guys

The first obvious thing I need to do to my DB9 is get the audio system up to date (sorta)

Has anyone here installed the Dension 500?

Do I need to pop the full radio out or is everything I need to get to accessible by just removing the top cover over the sat nav and starter buttons etc?

Thanks

Tom

I am considering the same thing.

There is a pretty good YouTube video of someone doing it

From what I can see you can just pop the top cover daunting as that is

I had to take mine off to repair the sat nav (V8 vantage). It does seem scary but it is actually really easy. One of those things that once you've done it, you'll wonder why you were worried about it.

James at Aston Installations can do these in his sleep, I'd highly recommend giving him a shout.

He can and quoted around 695 but if I can have a pop myself with just the cost of the unit then it's worth a go, I'm undecided yet, the DB9 isn't my daily and used twice a week so will probably put it off for a while in any case.

Did you lift up from the satnav edges or go from the actual edge of the fascia with a trim tool?

I didn't use a trim tool at all.

I disconnected the lid from the sat nav. Then put my fingers under the ski slope where the lid is and used my thumb as leverage on the leather next to the ski slope.
That works both sides to release it at the top and then it's pretty easy to pull it from the bottom of the lid hole to release the bottom.

He goes from the bottom it seems

I will order trim tools anyway as could do with some.

Does anywhere do soft rubber tools?
