+1 about the interior;

from the outside, the new DBS is stunning, inside it is not up to 2018......the plastic air vents, the 8 inch tablet screen......even the previous DBS interior looks more modern,,,,,,

Let's hope they fix this coming year(s), in addition with a decent gearbox (manual or DCT or MCT, they can just source this from AMG!). Watched more then 10 reviews, and all agree that the 8-speed ZF gearbox is the weakest part of the car and does not fit the segment it wants to play in. Will stick to my current DBS for now.

Few moan about the ZF box in other cars, so maybe any ‘issue’ is just a software update away on the production cars?

Haha, as though my post count has any relevance to the content of my posts..

I can understand Paul, that you consider it is not relevant, but on this forum there have been a number of instances where it has been very relevant. Your judgement has been reached without knowledge of the history.

Whether it is applicable in your own case I do not know, because I stop reading when any arguments occur.

The awkward initial posts we have seen here have involved, concealed advertising, a rebuilt crashed car, and several others with ulterior motives.

Perhaps therefore, it is best to start gently.

Only trying help. Please don't waste your time argueing with me, because I won't read.

It is outstanding in my Vanquish. IIRC, the Catchpole review mentions that they had to limit the torque in the first two gears because the gearbox couldn't handle it.

When I test-drove the ContiGT, the factory development driver told me they developed the DCT because they needed a stronger gearbox than the ZF.

While your reference to historical problems with some first posts is valid, surely they are in the minority?

I know, first impressions and all that, but where is the rule that states that 'thou shalt not express an opinion or engage in debate in thine first 10 posts"?

As for responding to (sorry, admonishing) the newcomer and then pre-emptively stating that you won't bother to read his responses (sorry, arguments), please be sensible. You can't have it both ways.

Can we stop arguing and get back on topic please?
If we're on here we must surely at least share a common interest?

Still made by ZF - it’s a development of that used in the Porsche Panamera (of which it shares its platform I also think). Wraith Black uses the same box as the DBS, although that doesn’t have paddles so stops people complaining about its responsiveness I suppose.

Was very lucky to drive the DBS yesterday. What a beast. Beautiful to look at, front back and sides, interior just full of luxury and although I’m not keen on the db11/dbs centre console I could look past it.

Initially felt like quite a big car (especially compared to the very nimble and chuckable new vantage) and I haven’t ever driven the 11 so I expect similar. As soon as we were out of town I could open it up and wow, just wow, what a machine. It’s an absolute brute with an exhaust note to match. Put your foot down and it just lurches and lurches and barks it’s head off. Sadly a bit too much traffic around to really see what it can do only country bends so had to settle for a few overtaking opportunities but those were thrilling. First impressions, it’s a masterpiece and sits rightly at the top of the AM fleet. I absolutely loved it.

At £260k for a decent spec and little to be done deal wise at the moment I’m told, I’m defo struggling with the price. I took an vanquish S our immediately after and felt more at home, it felt lighter and more nimble and with an equally great soundtrack. If money were no object, I wouldn’t hesitate to go DBS but with a nearly new vanquish S achieveable for 90k less, it’s near impossible to justify.

Even though i have not driven the new DBS i do agree with you bananarob, the Vanquish S does seem great value as you say.

I rather agree. No contest.

That said, I waved at a dark DB11in Cambridge today. It looked rather smart. Growing on me, obviously.

Saw the new DBSS in the flesh at Beaulieu Supercar Weekend.

Thought it looked lovely, much nicer than the Ferrari Superfast.

Doubt I would get it in my garage, as looks huge!

Hmm i really do like that Bentley and as Kevin says it a strong opponent. Trouble is they seem to make loads of them so they are nowhere near as exclusive as the Aston, that's the problem for me anyway!

Just to add every time i see the rear end of the new Bentley, it reminds me of the old Aston DBS( Persuaders model)

Not at all. Pretty much every footballer owns one and we all know they are at the top of the tree when it comes to "taste"

Furthermore I have no interest in the videos as the interior is far too bling for my liking.

I also checked with my local jeweller and sadly he's out of sovereign rings and diamond encrusted 18ct Rolex's at the moment so I cant even buy the required accoutrements to go with the car wink

I can't believe you're even comparing the 2 but horses for courses.

Bloody hell Nick. That’s like saying all Audi’s are driven by cocks, BMW’s by sales reps, and 911’s by estate agents! hehe
