The bottom one is Q paint, how much is this please?

For those that have driven it, is it a lot better than the Vanquish S ?

TIA.

Well.... I've been thinking about a DBS... I did a configuratior to make the yellow one but the colour in the upper picture sets the car off well too. Does anyone know what colour the top DBS is?
Satin Xenon Grey
I have gloss Xenon on my Vanquish S Ultimate. It is an amazing colour - a course blue fleck in the dark grey paint.

Prices probably vary but I know one Q colour is £4K

Drove the DBS last week at Pebble Beach. It is absolutely incredible. The wait just got a little bit harder!

Well if that's the colour then Aston have a bit of work to do on making their configurator look a bit more like the real thing. I'm visiting my dealer in a few days so I'll maybe see a paint sample then

Aston had a DBSS at the Concours D’Elegance at Hampton Court this weekend. Strangely in lime green it looked really good. They also had a Vantage in the same colour and that didn’t work at all. There was also a great display of Aston’s if all different ages as well as the usual DB4s etc. Great show overall. Pic below since I wouldn’t have believed the colour combo would work without seeing it:

It was intended to be the red one but that went to Blenheim instead. I think the Satin Xenon grey one is there today.

Far too much Lime Essence going on.

and a nice example of why I don't like PPF. At least you wouldn't notice it discolour on the car:

That’s just a case of being cheap though, if you get the whole bonnet done it won’t show up. And modern PPF doesn’t go yellow over time either.

But I agree to an extent, it will never look as good as a well polished and treated car for shininess.

I agree, but better that than paintwork peppered with stone chips. Even one will immediately draw the eye away from an otherwise flawless finish.

DBS in the same picture as new Vantage is not a good idea.

A few photos of the DBS from my visit to the ever helpful people at Edinburgh Aston Martin on Friday. The static car in the showroom is the Hyper Red / Blue Haze combination, while the test drive car is White Stone. Some surprises: on seeing the car close up, the number of clever airflow features to help the aerodynamics; the detail in the shape of the front grille; how surprisingly comfortable the bucket seats feel. Small downside - no DBS or Superleggera badges on these pre production models, or wings on the rear.

OK, so uploading 4 x pics totalling <2Mb didn't seem to work. Any suggestions why? Here are the others...

Had a drive of that car this afternoon, fastest thing I’ve ever driven , by far.

Incredible effortless performance.

I had my first drive in this yesterday. I’m still getting over the experience. The acceleration in 3rd gear is like nothing I have ever been in. Floor the throttle at 30mph/2,000 rpm and it’s like engaging Hyper Drive on the Millennium Falcon. No turbo lag, no hesitation, but lots of lovely V12 howl. There are also some turbo induction/dump valve noises which you don’t hear in DB11 and they add to the drama and overall sense of immense power in this car. This one does not have the titanium exhaust option fitted, I’m looking forward to hearing it, but the standard exhaust system sounds ace.

It’s the fastest car I have ever driven on the road, but despite this remains incredibly composed and the brakes are equally impressive.

Then there’s the looks....I just think every angle looks perfect. It’s gorgeous IMO and it has so much presence, every car I came up behind on the M11 moved over. Every person that has looked at it loves it.

Well done Aston Martin, you’ve absolutely nailed this car and I’m very excited we have commissioned a new Special Project based on the DBS for delivery next June. If you thought Red Arrows was good, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! More details coming soon.....

I just looked at this thread again. When I see that lime essence car I cannot believe it left the factory. What are AML thinking? Who are they aiming that at? Like the new Vantage launch. Sure, it may work in Dubai, but the rest of the World?

I know they want to attract new market segment of buyers, but they need to be careful. Many buy Aston’s because they offer understated style and exude class.
I also hate Lime Essence. Terrible choice. But I understand it was a company decision to support the AMR team (lime essence is the racing colour), and touches of which also appear on the AMR versions. Whatever you think, it certainly got people talking.

I badly want a DBSS. Been configuring away, and I think an ultramarine black car for me with all black triaxial quilting interior please...just need to sell all of my cars and motorbikes and then might just get close to one...
