i use chubb (via quantum as chubb don't sell direct http://www.quantumplc.com/) for house and cars - not the cheapest but offer lots of benefits and the customer service is the best you will find. I think the db9 costs around gbp900 a year all risks any driver fully comp and i can drive any car fully comp.

A few years back there was flooding nearby - they called me at 8pm to see if i needed to make a claim as they had an assessor in area following day due to others making claim....i was fortunate i didn't need it.

I had someone drive into back of me on the motorway last year - I called them immediately and the car was collected the following day - taken to works and no excess to pay as i didn't need a loan car.

My experience with morethan on the other hand - led me to avoid them and put everything thru chubb and rename them lessthan.
The Chubb HNW products are exceptional. We have many clients who use them and would not use anyone else.

Cheap they are not!!

So its renewal time so i thought id have a look at NFU multicar.
10 year old A4 and a 2007 V8V, quote came in at.......£2500! WTF.
Currently got a multicar policy with Avivia which i did well with last year but the renewal price has gone up since last year.
Might have to look at having separate policy's again.

Get new Aviva quotes and go back to them with the figures, my renewal was £850 appx which was an increase of 15%, ended up paying around £650 by just putting my details back into their site with the extra 1 years NCB.

Yes, Chubb are fantastic - agreed values, any driver, any car, etc. Just renewed again with them this evening in fact (Masterpiece), although as said, one pays for the sleepful nights.

I like to minimise my 'no fun' financial outgoings at any opportunity, but would never use Admiral for my Aston. If you do just be VERY clear about free choice of repairer and all the drawbacks if you do do that - there is all sorts of nonsense here by them; others are joining the bandwagon now too. Its because 'approved' bodyshops inflate all costs - and why they ask you first thing when quoting 'is it an insurance job'...

Also, I had a DD policy last year with 'upgraded' hire car cover I paid a bit extra for but it would never have paid out as if I chose my own repairer (no your not using some cowboys in a back alley...) that paid for perk was deleted. Locktons/Chub for many years for me now - £750... Great policy and acceptable cost.

I insured with locktons, a-plan and with Admiral.

Like the majority of people I never claimed so I overpaid with locktons and a-plan, retrospectively.

Just gone from Aviva to Classicline, Loctons way too high for me. Aviva have cut back multi vehicle multi policy discounts.

I'm with Admiral (reluctantly) but it was over £1k cheaper than alternatives that were recommended. Unfortunately someone recently reversed into my Vantage while parked and drove off. Admiral have been okay so far. They did try to get me to go with their approved AM repairer even offering to reduce the excess to almost nothing, but eventually agreed that the car could go to AM Works which I'm obviously happy with. It took a little persuading but I did get there in the end.
Did Admiral penalise you re NCD like another contributor in this thread? I am with Admiral even though I have heard claims procedure can be difficult (as opposed to refusing to pay!). My philosophy is, I drive very few miles in the AM and therefore my risk of having to claim is low and if I do claim, I will try to remember I have saved hundreds of pounds in premiums. Getting them to agree to my own choice of repairer is important so on next renewal I might have that conversation with them. Tip: Having had the multi car policy for a few months, I asked for a quote to add household policy. They said they would send me a cheque for about £10 as the premiums on the cars reduced by more than the cost of the household insurance because I added the latter!! Bizarre but it gave me some faith in their honesty/attitude.

Just got my annual renewal at Admiral. Orginal quote for renewal was a bit cheeky so I unleashed the wife on them. God, she can get a deal.
All 3 cars (2009 V8V, 1989 Defender 90 and 2016 Jazz) for £600.
It pays to call. Never accept the renewal price. Haggling is almost a sport.
I've been with them for a few years now.

An amazing deal although the cynic in me suggests wait for a claim ( which I hope you never have ) to be handled before suggesting a good deal !

I should mention the crime rate is low, not many people and roads are comparitively deserted. That'll be northern Scotland.

Not got an Aston, yet, but some experience with Admiral... Yes, cheap especially with multicar. Always willing to knock a bit off on renewal... Any car you can quote having got a lower price on s site they will usually match. Sometimes they will just lower it. Bit like Virgin Media.... Anyway... As for claims... My wife's car got hit by another car. Write off. They gave a loan car which would have been less painful getting if my wife hadn't wanted a specific mini... But they did.. And paid out within a month or do, after some negotiation getting pretty good market value (less excess) However... As they have still not got the other insurer to admit guilt despite police and all there being clear who was st fault, after 9 months so far, no sign of recompense as yet for excess (claimed on legal cover) nor increased premiums for wife on last renewal.... Protected Ncd value not impacted, but the premium before its applied is... Because until the other insurer admits liability its on you! Which reminds me.... Need to ring and ask how it's going, have Hastings deigned to answer the phone yet?? Oh, and the loan car.... If they don't get their costs back, I. E. The other insured party never admits guilt, that'll be on me too according to small print... I console myself that I have the other parties address so will be able to take personal action if they don't admit to it soon..

Did the Locktons thing,,, they are a bit too expensive, although I accept they provide a 1st class service. Now have 2 classics with Footman James, the rest with Admiral. I am hearing good things about NFU multi policy, so maybe give them a chance at renewal of my Admiral insured cars.

I was with aviva last year ,
So went to pick up the car Tuesday morning having been given a quote through HR OWEN, Brokers,
All agreed and I said as soon as I get there I will pay.
So I rock up do the paperwork, make the phone call and guess what the goal posts have changed.

Now they cant tell the difference of parking it in the center of London over night and it residing in a locked garage on the property in Cornwall.

So obviously they were told to ram it , And Classic line had already noted id had trouble filling out there form online without access to a phone .

It work out considerably cheaper and i liked the professionalism of them bothering to phone back .

I renewed mine today with multicar admiral and really can't complain, had to tell them about my most recent speeding fine and they still managed to lower the renew quote by £150.

I had mine (V8V) from new with NFU mutual ~£400, went down second year by about £40 as they are a mutual and share profit with customers (members). Also from new they will replace as new for first 2 years, most insurers only do 1 year. On the downside I’m not allowed to carry more than 2000 shot gun cartridges and some limitation on horse boxes, but I don’t have one of those!!!...

For clarity, please can the Admiral underwritten guys update on their policy's 'preferred repairer' options/implications with an Aston, and especially using a MD and an Aston Approved bodyshop for any repairs?
