Unsure why my previous thread related to the tools in the PH camp site got deleted

Setting fire to the inflatable mattress and tent.....

Go home if you can't handle a shandy

What in the PH Bleu Nord site? Where abouts in the site, we only arrived a few hours ago and missed that. Call Brian if you’re having a problem, he’ll deal with it.

No, it wasn't in the PH / 1st Tickets site, but it was in Bleu Nord camping, and visible from the site.
Fire, is absolutely bonkers on any campsite.
Furthermore, something combustible was also thrown onto the fire, as it exploded!!
Fire brigade were in attendance.

Yeah - mentioned this in the Mad Friday thread.

A complete tool in a MK2 Escort and an equally tttish M4 owner nearly wiping out parked cars and kids.

Given the amount of smoke that fire generated and the closeness to the airport, I'm surprised the authorities didn't descend with greater vigour. Had it been lit during the day, they would have had to stop the race.

Utter berks.

That explosion was a gas canister being thrown on a fire late Sunday night. Was in my tent just adjacent, actually thought it was a bomb. Total tools...

Just to check, it wasn't a hot-orange M4, was it?

As said it was in Bleu Nord not the PH fenced part. Really laughed at the bloke in the Escort. He left 20 mins before us on Monday morning, We saw him broken down on the outskirts of Le Mans just after joining the dual carriage way.

Anything that wasn’t guarded was being chucked on the fire. Seemed to be all middle aged blokes that had been let off the lead for the weekend.

TBH its not half as bad as at the 24hr bike race. Utter carnage for all concerned. You couldn't see across the circuit at many points due to the smoke blowing over from the campsites.

I spoke to the "complete tool" who was doing doughnuts in the mk2 escort and it was clear he was not the sharpest tool in the box and there was an air of bullsxxt about him as he claims the pistons and camshaft in it where to his own special design, we all know the type, anyway he was obviously was being urged on to do it by his dozen or so mates of his but not near there own vehicles, bmw,s audi,s etc but they thought it was fine close to my vw campervan and others too. Gullible enough to beleive his "mates" when told he is a driving god.

We were on Bleu Nord as well - what was going on about 2am with the breaking bottles and the guy with the appalling English Accent yelling out "motherf**ckers" at the top of his voice?

Went into town for dinner Sunday night, so missed the fire.

Although we had to overtake the Escort going up the motorway with billows of blue smoke coming out the back and we could hardly see! So it is now well and truly knackered! laugh

No, dark grey (matt finish I think) - from what I could see.

I think it was these guys that defecated outside of my tent on Sunday night.

As Bron once said, there is no cure for being a ...

Whoever thought that fire works and Chinese lanterns in a campsite full of cars, tents and other assorted flammable things was a good idea is clearly a bit slow.

And why go all that way to France to do a donut when you could just go to Basildon and save everyone the bother, the Gendarmes had BSJ on lockdown last year so they have obviously had enough.

I remember a few year ago when some bright spark set their caravan on fire and threw a gas canister in it, could see the plume from the other side of the circuit.

Never underestimate just how stupid some humans are.

I don’t understand the need to go to Le Mans and act like a total cock confused

We suffered a similar issue on Sunday evening in Houx. In fairness he was the only cock in the site but someone in a MK2 escort was driving about the site like it was a rally track. Nothing gets the senses going like stones being flung at your tent as you lie inside it waiting for impact!

This is partly why we leave on Sunday night. I’ve often found that a strange atmosphere descends on the place the evening after the race and some people’s behaviour regresses to Neanderthal levels.
