You’ll need to add about a third to the auction price before working out the final price.

Do you have a second hand market for registration marks in your State?

In the UK second market, prices are set by supply / demand.
Our previous Prime Minister Mrs. Thatcher, becane aware of increasingly high priced car registration marks, and decided that the Treasury should benefit, by the government similarly selling registrations. Probably a unique and painless way of raising tax, because a nil value product, is sold for sometimes high prices, to people who are very willing to pay. Everyone is a winner, even including those tax payers, who do not want a personal registration mark.

A DB9 Volante in my office car park has a "007" plate, now I'm curious what (s)he paid for it!
A bit vulgar for my tastes, but each to their own.

One person thinks otherwise, and has committed to pay £15,010.

Of course, everybody else in the World might agree with you, and consequently the buyer has overpaid, and perhaps should have purchased Ian's registration mark instead. wink

I regularly see an old Rolls Royce around Chelsea with reg. 007.
I guess it is worth far more than the car !
Never seen the appeal myself but we are all different.

I saw that plate on a DB9 last year in Jersey, the car itself didn’t look that great and I did think the plate would be worth so much more...
