Tyres for 2001 DB7
Discussion
I am thinking of putting some 19 inch wheels on my DB7. They are at the moment fitted with Front 245/35 and Rear 265/30 so as the diameter remains the same as the previous 18 inch wheels. Any thought or advice on increasing these sizes to 245/40 and 275/35 respectively so as to soften the ride. I realise this will increase the diameter which effects the speedometer but as the only user of the vehicle this is not a problem.
The appearance of the car is improved as it fills the wheel arches better. I like to think the slight increase in tyre wall height deals with today's roads and potholes giving slightly less bump thump to the ride. The tyres by the way are Michelin super sport rear and Michelin 4 front ( super sports now discontinued).

I've done this on mine, 245/40 on the front, 275/35 on the rears. Speedo now reads almost spot on compared with satellite reading. Didn't go wider on the front as there did not seem to be any point. I run them at 35psi all round.
Don't do this if the car has traction control.Car looks great, I agree the larger wheels make all the difference. This is the way I will go, will send pictures in due course. I am not too concerned regarding traction controls. the overall increase in diameter is not too great and should not cause problems. Pleased however to hear you have had no problems with traction control / ABS. Once again many thanks for the picture. Max B.
