OK, interesting possible fault developing on the car today. Low mileage, V8V 4.7 coupe, Manual box.

I was driving around town and noticed that every time I changed gear and just as I completed lifting my foot off the clutch pedal, there was a quiet, gentle noise which even the wife agrees is somewhere between a cat meowing and a nose whistle.
It was fairly consistent with the gear changes, but was also occasionally making the noise during steady cruising around 40 mph.
The noise does not coincide directly with the pedal movement.

A couple of hours later and a short 5 minute drive - it made the sound only once.

I'm thinking of maybe a small vacuum pipe leak but not currently in a position to look at it.

Anyone else had this little noise and found the source?

Oh, I have a cat. CHECK - yes, I still have a cat.hehe

Bump

It’s still doing it. I’m inclined to think it’s clutch-related. Anyone had a similar noise?

I seem to recall the early V12V’s having a similar noise caused by a faulty clutch release bearing. Don’t remember seeing any reports of the V8V’s having the same issue though.
