I’m an eager buyer, but debating whether to wait (which pains me!) or bite the bullet and pay circa £3-4K more (some are even higher) than they have been? Having a 12 month timeless AM warranty for me is worth the price of mind, so this must be considered a premium benefit?

It's about £2k pa, however people will debate if it's worth that. I have got my money's worth so far from it. Had a new fan module and doors repainted due to bubbling. They also replaced the ski slope and both rear light modules when I bought the car. Doubt an indi would have done all that. Having said that I've never bought an Aston Martin from and indi.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the prices over the rest of the year.

Good luck in your search. You won't regret buying one. Just remember, be sure before you test drive it. The urge to buy is strong with these cars.

I can confirm this. I drove about eight cars before I settled on mine, although I'll admit was trying variants to eliminate some of the options, like coupe vs roadster, 4.3 vs 4.7, manual vs SS. I tried two or three that I was tempted to make an offer on, but they either had options that didn't meet my requirements or had issues that made me suspicious of historical care - so be prepared to walk away, there's always other cars.

Good luck with your hunt - mine took months and involved much travel.

I wonder if prices are creeping because most people who are in the market for an Aston have a bit of extra cash during Covid19 and that cars are selling faster/easier than usual? I would have thought many of us would have at least an extra £15k swirling around as a result of not taking holidays for the past 12 months.

3 engines (V8), two gearboxes, seat modules and replacement pulleys all within 6k miles. I'd say it's worth it.

There was a V12 S with 12k miles with Sytner for £72.5k, they were willing to do it for £71k after I enquired but decided I'd hold out for a Vanquish. I think it's only early v12 vantages that seem to have risen of late.

This is the impression I get - for a variety of reasons alot of people actually have more money in their pockets as a result of covid. Apparently some of the available grants and loans have also pushed up prestige used prices, so I've read.

I also enquired about this car early on, but the all black just didn’t appeal to me and want a manual (despite trying to convince myself!!!). That said, what a car and a bargain if they sold for £71K.

Thanks, I haven’t driven one yet; but absolutely sure it will exceed my expectations. I’ve come from a 4.3 V8V - great ownership and sold it (along with another 2 cars) to fund a V12V.

Whilst I have a few requirements for a V12V (not black, owners less than 5, mileage below 30K); the only sticking point is whether I then add in to hold out for carbon seats; which narrows the available cars and then at the top (or above) my max price point!

Isn’t car searching / buying meant to be enjoyable 🤣😂

Is there a reason for number of owners ?

I really wouldn't get too hung up on the number of owners. As we all know, these are emotional purchases, and for some it's just the need to scratch an itch for a year or so.

If you're in the market for a V12V, then the car is going to be between more or less 8 and 12 years old. I think it's perfectly reasonable for 5-6 owners during that period. if you were in the market for a Ford Mondeo, then clearly it's a different scenario, but that's not where we are.

I don't need to tell you this, but buy on Service history and condition, don't get distracted by someone who may have bought it and put it in a garage for 2 years, as long as it was maintained properly.

As for the 6 speed being the sweet spot, I think there's a yes and no answer to that. Having owned both, the 7sp manual is without question, in my eyes a better all round package (comfort, waterfall etc etc). That said, I did love my 6sp, and as something to drive I found it more of a handful than the V12S, which was fun too (although deadly in the wet on Corsas rofl).

Would I swap my 7 for a 6....absolutely not, but if I could I'd have both..........

Value wise I think all manual V12 Vantages will steadily increase over time from hear on in (steadily though, nothing is about to rocket). Of course if rarity is what you're after, then the 7sp is the one, but in the grand scheme of things they're all rare.

Here's a little Sunday morning fact for everyone.........they built 1311 F40's..........they built 1199 V12 Vantages.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that, had to have been a most unpleasant experience. Without wishing to dredge up unhappy memories, is there a thread on here about it? Or could you share some information? Thank you

Lost the ‘LOL’ emoji’s about the car searching / buying being enjoyable. A tongue in cheek comment!!

Perhaps the number of owners aspect is something I need to review, but I guess everyone has their own things that they need to be completely happy with; unless the funds don’t reach or a ‘perfect in every other way’ car comes along; then compromises have to come into play.
